Man I've seen ads for those quote-alongs and just imagining being in the middle of one fills me with dread.

I'm still disgruntled about that review (and others like it) tricked me into buying/reading the goddamn book. God bless the people in the comments of the review who knew it was trash all along.

reading that part all I could think about was (aside from "this is horrible") - Cline and his god-awful nerd buddies were sitting around talking about how cool it would be to have like a Rock Band style game, but where you recite dialogue from movies.

Christ…it is absolutely not fun. No one is holding it up to some high standard of literature…they are just readying a shitty book that is supposed to be fun and finding out it is boring and painful to read.

Jesus Christ no one is holding it to some standard of important literature. The fucking book is not fun to read; it is like reading the About tab of the world’s biggest loser’s facebook page. Plus the constant stream of secondhand embarrassment that he has broadcast “I wish so badly to live in a world where the only

I sincerely hope you find the person that is impressed with your immaculate taste in compilation cds

and Osker…how are you qualified to write this if you don't remember Osker?

I like how whenever Hayes isn't there and calls in, he has some specific thing he references from the first part of the episode that he wasn't on…like is he just listening in or what?

worst book of all time…best of luck to them making that into a good movie

they are more my thing - saw them play with Beach Slang and it was a good fit

I could have sworn in the CBB 500 ad last week Hayes said they did an episode with one of its guests right before CBB was recording - if I heard that right and it wasn't a joke, there should be an episode they can release.

The best part of the Masterclass rerun was Hayes reading the ad for CBB 500, which of course was great

Gabrus needs to Go on Cum Town and really cut loose

I enjoyed both episodes - the Mary Holland ep was a little weird because you could tell (and she admitted) she wasn't really a musical theater person so she was always kind of pulling away from singing. She was funny of course, but I always perceived this tension where she was trying to fit it.

I had no interest originally because I didn't think a TBS comedy could ever be good, but started watching at S3 and it is hilarious

I don't think that's the criticism though. Clearly it was supposed to be a fun thing referencing things people like…it just fucking sucked and was no fun whatsoever.

Amazing coincidence - specifically Pop Culture that author Ernest Cline was obsessed with and nothing else. Man, he would have been so cool if he could have lived in that world…

Speaking for myself - I jumped off the bandwagon probably 30 pages in and dragged myself to about halfway through. I think a lot of people saw the heavy praise it got from lameass nerds and went into expecting something good and were surprised to find an absolute turd.

the whole series was so great…I love how the last ep was such a petering out. I'll miss having it to look forward to along with HH

The whole book is a spectacular self-own, I reckon
