(Disclaimer that I love the shit out of Dark Souls)
I think the entire path down to Bed Of Chaos suffered from them having run out of time - so many places seem to have had the monsters copy/pasted without a lot of thought. The giant foot monsters are terrible and plentiful. The flame-shooting things are uninteresting

I am always torn between my desire to not spoil anything and my thirst for the game when I am not playing it. I would find myself reading walkthroughs and stuff like that but trying not to absorb anything.

That 2005 team had awesome twins Ronnel and Donnel Taylor. They wore #1 and #2. #1 pulled up 2 socks in honor of his brother's number and #2 pulled up 1 sock for same reason.

No, not when the event you are gambling on happens infrequently. In that case, probability of winning is more meaningful. Expected value depends on being able to play repeatedly, over time results get close to that number.

Or when he ran in and slaughtered a shitload of pacifists to get to the bad guy. Can't imagine how hard Goodkind was while writing that.

I have to say "statistical forecasting" is a bit of an overreach for "counting daily doubles"

20 hours, 60 FPS…that's over 4 million frames! So many glorious frames!

Because of the limited number of broadcast channels. Note that they have no authority over cable channels, only networks. Notice that satellite radio is also not subject to over the air standards.

One of my favorite scenes is when Leslie has just found out she was matched with Tom, then listens to him on the phone complaining about a face cream and making horrified/bewildered faces.

The two-handed wave Ron does when he sees him is phenomenal

"by the way I stole this riff"
That's all you gotta say and you're golden!

What if you got rid of any "where the ball is" questions (touchdowns, spotting ball down, out of bounds) and just made the rule where your feet touch. Ball at that spot and no triangulating where the ball was when they were down...is there a reason why it wouldn't be simpler?

Is there a reason why (for example) Kansas is all small counties, but then Colorado's are consistently larger throughout the entire state? It appears that they stuck to more of a grid of uniformly-sized counties until you get to the west.

There's a pretty well-defined line where counties get way bigger as you go west…is there a reason for that?

I gotta say, plot of an episode of a TV show is kind of stretching the definition of "entertainment news".

Problem is he backs it up by printing it out on an old-ass printer

I'm sure he backs it up regularly. Worst case scenario there is a delay while someone reads it off that paper with the tear-off sides with holes in them and types it back up.

And Patrick Rothfuss already said Doors of Stone isn't coming out this year…what is a poor pathetic dork to do?

I know I never thought I'd read these books to completion, but then one afternoon I came across three little words…"fat pink mast", and sploosh!

Maybe this is common knowledge about Yellowcard, but I saw them opening for someone back around 2000 in an extremely small venue (Cog Factory in Omaha NE) — probably there were approx. 30 people there I'd say…
Mid-song, the singer makes the people standing around the stage clear out a bit so the violin player can do a
