Even though I grew up in Illinois, I spent every summer and Christmas break in KC with my grandparents. I was a die-hard Chiefs fan, learning early on that men bond over sports as my grandfather and I talked Chiefs stats over Entenmann’s chocolate doughnuts at breakfast during those long trips to my grandparents

I, too, grew up in rural Illinois, having lived 31 of my 35 years on this planet within an hour of St.Louis. I’ve taken a much different outlook on St. Louis style pizza, however. Provel cheese is fucking disgusting, for the exact reason you mention while trying to defend it! It’s made from the corpse wax of dead hobos.

Same. I’ve taught SPED, worked with at-risk teens, and volunteered for, and eventually worked for, Special Olympics.. What amazes me is how many of my co-workers (all SPED teachers as I work at an alternative school) are unabashed Trumpkins. The cognitive dissonance is astounding.

What really opened my eyes when I started volunteering, and eventually working for, Special Olympics is that there are a lot of athletes who are just good athletes, period, not just good athletes for being disabled. I watched the state weight lifting championships a few years ago and some of those men were

No, because the Special Olympics’ athletes have a lot of character, determination, and grit. I don’t think any of those things are on display at his golf courses. Don’t compare him to the SO athletes.

Several people have already responded much more succinctly than I’m going to, but I have first-hand experience as a former employee. Plus, I’m not sure if that was an honest question or internet snark.

Please...do tell me more...

Yep. I just posted pretty much the same thing. I’m glad I’m not alone in my hate for onions. There are literally DOZENS of us

I feel the same way about onions. I cannot fucking stand onions. They taste like the acrid, bitter boogers of Satan. You think MAYO is in everything? Oh no my friend...FUCKING ONIONS are in everything.

In 7 years of coaching high school football I think the most sadistic thing I ever did to my players was fart in the JV scout team huddle at practice when I was calling in a new play.

Not really a one-night stand story since I made up my mind early on in the date that no naked part of me was going to get near any naked part of her, but here goes..My first ever on-line date after getting divorced.

Not sure where you live, but I can find Duke’s in grocery stores and Wal-Marts around me (Southern Illinois, just outside of St. Louis)

Meanwhile, my alma mater put up 200 points tonight

I’ve heard good things about the Auto Ordinance 1911s. Plus, unlike the Rock Island 1911s, AO is made in the USA if that matters to you. I think they’re fairly comparable in price, at least with the basic GI spec models.

Funny you say that...that was one of his favorites as well!

I got my love of the stuff from my grandfather, who just passed away a few months ago. I’m going try this recipe, and eat it on soda crackers while drinking an RC Cola in his memory. RIP, Grandpa Bob

Hamel! While you’re in town picking up your $120k Bronco, stop and eat at Weezy’s Route 66 Bar and Grill!
