Animal Crossing is in cruise control mode right now, which is fine. Water my flowers, check in with neighbors, make angry faces at Julian until he decides to move, check the stores, etc. My next major time/energy investment isn’t going to happen until I can get the hybrid flowers I want for my garden, because my

After much not-reading, I finally picked back up a book I started a long time ago. Quackery: A Brief History of the Worst Ways to Cure Everything. Looks at the historical uses of arsenic, strychnine, heroin, mercury, and other ‘cure-alls’ that were actually super toxic and stupid.

How do they swab? If it’s throat, I’m super screwed. They tried to swab my throat for Strep and I gagged and dry heaved, because my gag reflex just said “No.” :(

I want to know how much of THPS2's soundtrack will be in there. So much good music in that game.

Only reason I didn’t list the 2008 Collapse is I don’t think anything has really changed since then. We’ve changed for the worse since 9/11, but the Recession didn’t really do much of anything to how the system works.

“... but every day some new cruelty happens that makes me despair for what’s next. There’s a lot of things I feel on a daily basis that I’m ready to stop feeling, but I don’t think that’s going to happen soon.”

“An armed society is a polite society.”

I’d dabbled in joining a random Unreal Tournament server here or there, but Halo 2 was my first real online game. The concept of lugging a console upstairs next to the modem and plugging it in was so foreign to me, but I did it for an afternoon with an Xbox Live trial, after a few hours I knew that console was going

Ditto on the McDonald’s nuggets. Worked at McD’s 3 years, still have no idea what they are, still don’t care. They smell and taste amazing.

Not gonna lie, sometimes I have trouble remembering who writes which articles on Kotaku. I don’t mean that as an insult, it’s just I read so many damn articles on here that I can’t always keep ‘em straight. But some articles stick in my head, along with their authors. Destiny and Anthem’s post-mortems are indelibly

God damn it Zach.

A reasonable discussion in the comments section?!

Oh, I see what you mean; unable to buffer it. I’ve run into that too - it’s an extremely tight window, and there are times when I think I’ve hit it the moment I land only to do nothing because I was a microsecond off. It’s annoying, but at the same time I know this is just me having to play on the game’s terms. I

I’ve played on PC, and did notice some input issues that really made the White Palace harder than it needed to be, but I have no idea if that was my very old X-Box 360 controller or the game doing that. I’m playing it now on Switch, and haven’t had any issues.

I haven’t really had the foreground issues outside of Deepnest, and that zone creeps me the fuck out so I spend as little time there as possible.

Fired up Hollow Knight for a second go’round, and it’s just as good as I remember. Should be wrapping it up this weekend. May make some attempts at the Pantheon, but I’m not good enough yet to even beat the Trial of Fools, so I guess that won’t go well.

Now playing

To me, this is still the gold standard for video game trailers:

I live with my wife and elderly grandma-in-law; we’re basically here to help cook for her and make sure she doesn’t have an “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” situation. We get along well enough, but I’d be lying if I said my wife and I haven’t been wanting to move into our own place for a while now.

“First look at Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla gameplay!”

This is amazing. My cynical self refuses to believe it’ll happen, though. :(
