There’s a lot of replies here of women who report zero harassment- and their fear that lack of male attention makes them unattractive. Look, a lot of male harassment has almost zippity to do with attractiveness- because it is targeted at vulnerability, not sex. Try to wrap your head around that, ok? Like rape, it is a

In a car on the freeway doing eighty in a car with archaic brakes. Ah, car safety, how you have changed.

Astoria, Or tried to use a fake orca (fiberglass) to scare off thousans of sea lions. It didn’t work, too bad actual orcas had previous engagements at Sea World, for example.

Ah, I hate it when people are utterly rude, and yet counting on you holding to the rules of politesse back to them. It always gives me little shivers of social anxiety- not so much that I fear them and their thin veneer of manners over meanness, and manipulation- but that I fear I will be mean back. You know, that

The Southern resident pod that Lolita was taken from is currently in the Salish Sea area -once Puget Sound. Many of the whales are well known to the locals, which is probably why I’m pushing back on this, that’s where I live. Whales have certainly been released back into the wild in the last 40 or so years, some of

Not the American justice system, in this case. This was England.

“At 40, everyone has the face they deserve.” Oscar Wilde. Apparently he deserves this one.

So NOAA stating that requirements would have to be met is a refusal to you. Ok. Yes, Lolita is the only Southern Resident orca in captivity- in a tiny tank in the Miami facility with no shelter from the sun. At 49, she has lived a long time...for a captive orca. Miami will not let her go, that’s the problem.

Orcas whose pod is known could look at release. You are stating that NOAA is basically blocking release, wheras they are inclined to be in favor of release- especially in the captivity of whales who were taken from endangered populations to be circus performers.

The oldest of the J pod orcas, “Granny” is now over 100 years old. Luckily for her, Sea World passed on her about 40 years ago. They thought she was too old.

IUD’s aren’t risk free, either- I had a CU7 IUD perforate my uterine wall.

It’s the “I found a dented Ferrari in the back of a garage for cheap!” mindset. The less confident guys are intimidated by you when you look great.

I had a cat do the false pregnancy thing. She stole all my rolled up socks and put them in a box with her. She would lay in the box and purr and lick at the socks at her belly.

Louis Mountbatten (Queen Elizabeth’s cousin) was a war hero. He was assassinated in 1979, I think.

I have been thinking that the actually pretty cowardly lionkiller and the killings of POC are linked- both examples of fear, and white privilege . So, in my worldview, it’s also good that this act of vanity/fear/privliege is getting called out.

To my understanding, the rules of hunting are this: You must eat what you kill *, and you kill no more than you and yours need to survive. You should always hunt legally, unless you are a character in some Dickensian universe, killing a duck to feed your starving family. Even so, then it’s Les Miserables for you. In

That’s Dorian Leigh, on the left.

It’s hard for me to imagine a universe where a famous abolitionist and feminist like Lucretia Coffin Mott gets shunted aside as unimportant, or worse yet, deemed a non feminist. Did no one but me ever read her “Discourse on Women”?
