No, they are a normal rental company with their “own” cars. In this case it looks like they contracted out the rental as they didn’t have a model X on their fleet or available at the time. The owners of the car appeared to be operating their own hire business with the car, Sixt were sub renting it out.

Not that lucky. You can import any age of car to the U.K. as long as it can pass an IVA test, which is the same test Kit cars go through & fairly straightforward. If it’s over 10 years old or from the EU then you don’t even need to do that.
