I would NOT recommend putting important documents in a safety deposit box (at least not the primary copy). I know that in my state the contents of safety deposit boxes are sealed upon death — not very helpful for those left behind.
does anyone else think it is a little creepy to name your child based on how well his (or her) name googles? eek.
I love Quicken. I don't upgrade it every year, but even shelling out $40 every few years is totally worth it to me.
I highly recommend ACDSee — it's a great tool for photo organization (features more extensive than Picasa or Photoshop Elements).
I don't know if there is software specific to freezer cooking, but I use MasterCook for all of my recipes. It's a great program if you have a lot of recipes to organize or calculate the nutritional data on. There are lots of recipe software programs out there, and I think I've tried almost all of them, but I always…

After my husband put his ipod nano through the washing machine (yes, really), I ordered a new battery from Kokopelli for $23. They have instructions on their website for how to install a new battery, or you can pay a little extra and they will do it for you.

Should I be using external hard drives, burning to DVDs, or using an online service (like Flickr Pro, SmugMug,etc)?

I love http://www.sparkpeople.com/ It has calorie counters, recipes, forums, exercise tracker, videos to demonstrate weight lifting, and it lets me set a goal based on pounds to lose or the amount of time I have.
I lived in Asia while teaching English and everyone (teachers included) rushed home after lunch to take a little nap. It was great. I feel completely refreshed after a 10-20 minute nap.
You can adjust exactly what CCleaner will remove from Firefox by going under Cleaner > Applications. Under Firefox it gives you five options — cookies, download history, internet cache, internet history, and saved form information.
I work in a library and we have a giant box of lost disks, cd-roms, usb drives, etc that patrons have left in our computers. We never check the contents of the items before we throw them in the box. But if there was a label on the outside we would definitely call the number. I think the low-tech method might be more…
