In my home, we call it second-day stew and it is infinitely better.

I wish I had a thousand stars for this.
This is mind-numbingly bizarre and hard to follow. I even went down the rabbit-hole and read the linked articles and citations. What I’m coming away with is that Gen X should’ve changed... something so that 2021 racists, sexists and homophobes don’t get mad at people who talk about equality and accountability?
Both yelling about how it’s someone else’s fault.
Shut the fuck up Ted. Everyone hates you still.
Sometimes they’re the only way to go though. I had a year where they eluded every snap trap I set. They ate the bait and moved on. Then there was the time that one was running around under my sink with the trap stuck to its tail. That poor mouse was literally screaming and catching it was nearly impossible (salad…
You have to plug the holes— All of them. It involves contorting yourself into terrible positions to get under the sink and around heating pipes. Pull your kitchen drawers out and also the stuff inside the cabinets. Look for any cracks, holes etc. Follow the poop.
Plug every hole you can. Steel wool and/or spray foam should work. The steel wool is probably easier but you may find that it’s not enough. And do let your landlord know. It’s only going to get worse if it goes untreated. They reproduce quickly and you do not want to be infested.
My US family are well on their way to being vaccinated. I’m here in Atlantic Canada like, yeah I’ll see you in two years.
This is a great idea.
The older women in my FIL’s family learned to hide their vanilla extract for just this reason. Listerine was reportedly not safe either.
My late MIL was a food hoarder. When she passed away I had to throw out bags full of expired canned & dry goods. I hung on to the 12 (ish) ounce glass bottle of vanilla extract that still has the 50 cent price tag on it. I am slowly using it up (as she would have wanted) but it will be sad when I get to the end of it.…
It is so perfect for that. I still turn down the tops too but it has made that so much neater.
And the folks who want the government to keep its hands of their medicare.
Spot on Claire. My canning funnel lived in a closet with the canner until I got fed up with trying to neatly transfer food into vac bags and dry goods into storage jars. I use it for so much now. Every kitchen should have one.
Seconded.
I keep a few heat patches around. The larger ones made for back pain are cheaply had at the dollar store and provide several hours of warmth. They’re great in any no-heat situation, not just emergencies.
Besides the fact that people are jerks, the problem is that Covid is an intangible- you can’t see it or smell it or hear it or taste it. You know what ticks almost all of those boxes? Farts.
Jeez. One of the first rules of prepping is to keep your preps to yourself. It’s not wise to advertise your resources.
Depending on my mood I’ll do up to 1/3 whole wheat. Yesterday was all white simply because I had used up all the wheat that was in the house. The deep freeze is out in the workshop and I was too lazy to get suited up to go out there lol.
