It’s strange but I’ve never had a problem with eating or going to movies (remember going to movies? In a theater?) by myself. Probably because I didn’t get married until I was thirty five and lived on my own for years, but it was always my “regular” setting. I’m A Reader, so I always had a book with me and never Read more

Amen to that. I have one son, and people used to always ask why we didn’t have more. I finally had enough, so I started responding “because my husband got diagnosed with colon cancer when I was six months pregnant and the chemo destroyed his ability to make sperm.” I get a morbid thrill from shutting people up this Read more

The answer is rich people. Full stop. If the Kardashians want to shell out an exorbitant amount of cash so they can go back to posting instagram pictures on private islands, you can bet big pharma will pry the vaccines from the hands of our health care workers.

If a vaccine is coming then why in GOD’S NAME are so many people flipping out over school closures again? Have a little grace for the teachers who don’t want to get sick and die two months before vaccination so that schools can stay open. (I teach remotely so this is not personal, but watching my colleagues teach for Read more

Howdy. Been a minute since I’ve been here, I’ve mostly been in mental hibernation - work work work, and my downtime consists of hiding under the weighted blanket and watching MASH for the eleventh million time. I've been a bit crook these last few days, was admitted to hospital overnight on Wednesday with a blinding Read more

I’m sorry, but what needy, privileged BS to be so put out and annoyed by someone who dares to want to get you something you’d like or use. My mom asks us this same stuff every year, every year I tell her she doesn’t need to get us anything, but she wants to give us a gift. She will choose herself if I don’t give her Read more

They’re her in-laws. They are family. They’re trying to do something nice for her. Maybe they deserve a little ‘emotional labor.’

Asking you to provide a list of things that would make good gifts for you and your husband is asking you to do the emotional labor of caring and being interested that your in-laws could, and don’t, do.

Gotta admit, I’ve been eating a lot more of these lately for lunch. Mainly the Atkins/ Healthy ones though. I’m trying to eat healthy and they fill me up more than a salad. They’re cheap too and seem to be a lot tastier and better quality than the Kids cuisine stuff we’d occasionally get as a “treat” when we were kids.

I’m not interested in a “civil discussion” with an anti-mask dipshit like you. Your lies are actively killing people, so you’re either dangerously stupid or dangerously evil.

Seriously - right above us, a maskhole: “masks don’t work.” I’m in an essential field. PEOPLE AREN’T WEARING THEM - correctly, or in some cases at all. Plus they keep breaking their “bubbles” without quarantining. Jesus Christ, I wished it just killed stupid. Read more
