I dug the beta. My takeaway was that it  was a bigger, deeper, AAA version of Ultimate Alliance. Yeah, I may lose interest in a couple months but I also platinumed Ghost of Tsushima in a week and no body's going to convince me that game wasn't worth it.

I *should* have spent the weekend in bed resting my back, but I still had to adult so that didn’t happen. Ended up passing out on the couch Saturday afternoon and messing up my back even worse, then on Sunday I spent the evening hunched over building models. Needless to say, my sciatica flared up and I wasn’t able to

Pulled the trigger on a new desk last night. I ended up going with one that was slightly bigger, but its aesthetics aren’t very good. It just looks like a regular office desk, mainly because its from an office supply company. I know there are people out there who say you shouldn’t care about aesthetics, but when it’s

“...less drinking while playing...”

Less drinking? What is that?

Every time I pick it up, I do kind of a thief/warrior hybrid. I think I’m just too lazy to do anything. I am using healing magic. And I read spellbooks.

The magic seems awesome, but I think I’ll probably save it for a different character. I just like sneaking and arching so much.

Usually I have left hand healing and

Your landlord really sounds like a grinch.

Still haven’t unpacked the stuff that I picked up from my parents’ house over the weekend. The box of toys ended up in the closet, but the boardgames and cookware are still in the hallway. We have storage space, but just haven’t gotten around to it.

Clutter is something I’ve spent the last five years or so slowly trying to get rid of. I seem to move fairly often, though less in the past few years, so I was always trying to make moving easier. And to save money. Lots of clutter usually equates to a bunch of money I spent on what’s basically junk.

So I stopped

Sorry to hear about the landlord fuckery, Fahey. While you may not have the time, you might want to see if their are any local housing advocates who might be able to assist.

Ugh, that’s awful. I really worry about small businesses, and especially restaurant and bar related ones. Without a strong safety net--national, state, or even local--everywhere is damned if you do, damned if you don't right now. If they shut down, more people are out of a job and they might close for good. If they

Send some of that rain back west, we could use it. I’m going to check my calendar in a minute to figure out which brain numbing meeting will be the best to bake during, because there’s no way we can eat all the peaches we have before they go bad. Going to try a batch of scones first.

This weekend is for trying out a fresh corn risotto recipe (and likely improvising some accompaniments from the csa share), working on working out again (easy does it, couch potato, I say to myself), and, I think, finally starting Nioh.

Pop in some gameboy games, just picked up Paper Mario and the Origami King, got Deadly Premonition 2, Ninjala, another Tetris Cup, lots of things to do this weekend. I’m going to make a little outdoor toolbox for one of my co-workers as part of a Christmas in July exchange, and that should take about half a day. The

Wife and I finally talked about what to do with the family situation. She’s been beating herself up because had she never shown me my mother’s non-restricted Facebook profile we wouldn’t be in this situation. Plus, I did kinda make the decision to cut them off without consulting her. I’ve been asking her what she

Sure, I may have the anxiety-prone trait of disasterizing at times and may have felt similarly previously, but it really seems like we’re hitting a time that includes but is not limited to the election, where we either continue the path the USA is careening on and go over a terrible cliff into (economic, climate,

Riley, you are either a time traveling wizard or very timely with today’s topic. So re: Trump trying to push the election back,  McConnell is already demurring on a response. Not giving a response has been the best politiking answer for someone who doesn’t agree with Trump, and it looks like McConnell is trying to

I’d be all for buying a cheap old house. I’ve been itching to get out of my current living situation, but I can’t really afford an apartment alone without basically cutting everything else out of my life. I’m not sure who’s living alone in a 1500+ dollar 1-bedroom apartment (I know, you’d kill for that in NYC), but

It’s weird that its a trend that has been happening both ways, people leaving for urban areas with jobs and leaving for rural areas with housing. Living in a rural area isn’t so bad, as long as you are relatively close to an urban area. I’ve been fascinated with the idea of renovating an old church into a house,

Back to the grind after a three-day weekend. On Sunday I went to a swap-meet, which wasn’t the worst thing in the world (people had to wear masks, booths were spread out, etc.). The main issue is that it was 100 degrees outside with no clouds and no wind. I tried staying hydrated, but it apparently wasn’t enough.

Thanks to the impending Defector website I spent a while this morning updating all the places I use my credit card with the new expiration date from the latest card the bank sent. I’m sure I forgot lots of places, so we’ll see where I get emails from needing updates.
