It creates a higher barrier to entry, but it definitely doesn’t mean there won’t be another team, nor did it probably increase the value of most other teams very much. Williams reportedly sold for about $200mm, which was probably a guide in setting this Expansion fee. So Williams is now worth more than $200mm, and so

Comments in this thread are cracking me up. This is entirely normal. For those interested, here are some recent expansion fees that can serve for comparison:

I’m no Trump apologist, but how on earth do you feel like no one is talking about it? We’re talking about it on a car website. It’s September 11th, and I still see it on the front of BBC, CNN, and Fox News.

The point is that it’s twice as expensive as those cars. If you’re in the market for an Aston Martin, there’s no such thing as a Challenger with sufficient exclusivity.

At this point, it’s entirely obvious that Bronco6G is a glorified ad/PR platform for Ford. But this release is a little puzzling to me. Don’t they usually wait to release higher trim levels until the buzz from the original release has died down a little?

I like a good mall crawler joke, but fender flares and a wider track definitely have off-road function.

Training a model to read that shitty sidewall lettering in low-quality user-submitted images would be pretty tough. Training one to read the info on the sticker in the driver’s door jamb however........

This is a surprisingly difficult thing to do with any real value. You could pretty easily create a database that just spits back your options for smaller wheel/tire combos that maintain the same overall diameter from factory (more sidewall), but that’s already fairly easy to do on a user basis without a database. This feels like a dagger for the NSX. This will slot into a crowded field of mid-engine exotics already. The Porsches, R8, McLarens, and Lamborghini will all continue to stand up on their own, but the NSX somehow already feels dated in comparison.

Totally agree, but there’s still pretty stout competition in that slot. Half of McLaren’s lineup, Audi R8, and Lamborghini Huracan to name a few.

Is Alpine as good? It’s on Ikon, I just haven’t had the chance to get over there.

This is a small niche that obviously isn’t driving the market for these, but they are insanely popular at the tracks that I go to. Unbelievably good tow vehicles for the package. So they’re good for people who already have a sports car and want a daily that can tow 7,000lbs without maintaining its own zip code.

Looks even worse on pit bikes. Looking forward to the Grom review lol.

Uh, because as much as I like all flavors of car, the word “quintessential” definitively does not mean a wide array. So it stands to reason that if a flat plane v8 is the “quintessential” race car noise, then a high-revving boxer 6 arguably isn’t.

it’s just baseline good at everything, which makes it great as a whole, you know?

COTD. Holy shit, I loved this.

Lol at accusing someone else of not watching F1 and then misspelling Vettel’s name and saying that Lewis is merely “better then (sic) most”.

Don’t lump your neighbor in with these other examples. Your neighbor sounds like a badass and an individual of great taste.

That isn’t just a regular dislike for change. That is advanced hatred for change.

Miami Blue has been pretty popular on Porsches, lately.
