But...they look the same.

Less about “in case the brand dies”, and more about saving money when using other logos in different markets.

Kind of off topic, but does anyone else find that automakers are starting to overdo it with the “BLAP BLAP” coming from the exhaust when you let off the gas? It’s an awesome sound - even my ‘05 Mini does it. But it seams that we’ve gone from a quick “BLAP BLAP” to constant burbling and crackling until you’re at a

As someone who has been going through almost the exact same thing for a little over a year, here is what I’ve learned:

Stef - a suggestion before this gets all the Monday views. I wish that I would have a seen the longer video before the shorter one that you posted at the time. It made the longer version a lot less interesting, knowing who wins. Maybe just add a line or something that you’ve embedded the final 12 minutes towards the

I’m pretty sure this was a good article, but I was distracted by how stunning the pictures are.

Yeah, I suspect that the Cayman would perform just slightly better. After the test drive yesterday, I had an easy time understanding why people want more torque. The car is great above 4500RPM, and it’s just really, really good below that. I drove a 987 S about a year ago and it was excellent. It didn’t inspire me as

I just meant that I’m seeing a 4% discount on the new cars, in general. Some discounts are higher. Some are paying sticker. It’s encouraging to hear that your experience was that autos were the same price as the manuals. I definitely believe it. I bet that it helps that there are still a lot of new manual Porsches.

You’re definitely right about used buyers not paying for options. They might pay a little bit of a premium, but it’s nothing compared to what the options cost when the car is new. Trim level has value, though.

Derp! I’m an idiot....

I suppose I should have clarified. You said:

Absolutely not.

You had me until you said that no one would cross shop the two. The two will DEFINITELY be cross-shopped, even if it’s obvious to the buyer which one they should ultimately go with.

I’m planning to buy an off-lease 2013 Boxster S in the next couple of months. The turbo-4 made the idea of waiting or of buying a new base model completely uninteresting to me. So, there is at least one Jalop who will buy one and will refuse to buy the turbo-4.

I love this trend of skinny horizontal headlights. 991 911, F-Type, AMG-GT, Lincoln Continental....

Texas: You don’t need a registration or a state permit for your gun, but OOOOOOOO you’re in big trouble if we catch you with an expandable baton.

Meh, I’m not super biased on way or the other....the drivetrain is simpler, but Subaru parts are notoriously expensive and Ford parts are practically free.

Why not use the FA20DIT?

I totally agree with your comment. That said, it’s completely reasonable for someone to choose not to buy a car if it’s marked up. I’d never buy a car with dealer markup. Just doesn’t make sense. In time, the markup always disappears.

If someone has children and a nagging wife, the RS is a great play. “It’s just a Focus, honey. And the kids fit great in the back seat.”
