One important point about all of these requirements: not one of them require you to be a man. Last year, Jessica Mendoza became the first female MLB commentator for ESPN. To be allowed to do this, she first had to be a four-time All-American softball player, hold 6 career records, and win an Olympic gold medal (she

It sounds like you're too hung up on "trade schools". Apprenticeships are fine, too; the point is that trades as a job should not be seen as something only the stupidest or poorest do as a last resort.

He was invited to every dirty job he ever went to. It's not like he punk'd the people doing those jobs. If anything his ineptitude at the work shows how truly difficult it is to do, making the people doing it day-in day-out seem that much more badass. The show never looked down on or made fun of the people doing the

Agreed, Mike Rowe doesn't deserve hate. He's a champion of the trades, a sorely neglected group of professions in the US. And, damn it, he's an incredibly charming human being.

My stride mother makes $42k a month and just bought a Mclaren F1.

The AV Club
Just being funny and not particularly sacrilegious.

Gin. Martinis are made with gin. There will be no discussion of this.

That scene when he's doing the radio interview after the trial and the host says, "I want to hate you, I want to insult you, but - damn you OJ - I like you."

BOO!

The ESPN OJ Simpson documentary is an excellent and chilling example of this. The guy was immensely charismatic except when his possessiveness for Nicole boiled over into violent rage. One interviewee tells a story about listening to OJ loudly berate Nicole in the next room, then walk out and flash a charming smile

I agree. Strip out all the political backstory and it's basically your standard chosen-one trope with a Dances with Wolves "going native" hook. The trick is keeping enough of the world building elements to make the fans happy (which they never will be anyway), but not retaining so much that the plot drags.

Proles. While drinking Victory gin.

They should only charge for comments that get 10 or more upvotes. Not fair to have to pay for all the shiptoast.

Weirdos. North Idaho is basically like Mad Max.

I can't say the same for The AV Club, however.

Yup. Like little eyeball shields.

A Trump presidency? That's not gonna be good for business.

I was saying "Burns-sexual".
