I think that’s why they don’t mention it. I doubt they’ll address it in-universe. Marvel won’t “say” anything.
It’s important that these be pointed out as results of textual criticism/analysis. These stories were told and then written long ago, then they have been recopied (while others were not) by editors, and those texts went on to be passed into that same system, and that repeated until modern history.
The hat the First Doctor wears is called a “karakul”. I only point this out because I fell down a hat-based rabbit hole a couple years ago trying to figure out where I could find one for Cosplay. Completely hiding the Fantastic Four (Reed, Sue, Val, and Franklin) and having The Thing and The Human Torch make spurratic, very peripheral appearances is an incredibly shrewd business move by a large multi-media empire.
