We ate a lot of chopped frozen broccoli and canned peas. The absolute worst was canned asparagus. So slimy and gross. Fresh asparagus was a revelation.

I read it the same! The only way of talking about kids that’s worse is this supposed pet board terminology (that I’ve never encountered, but have heard stories of): “skinkids.” It seems to be intended to be a cutesy partner to “furkids,” but it just makes me think of this dude.
