I have one and use it all the time for all sorts of work. They’re awesome tools and anyone that says they’re “terrifying” (LOL) probably shouldn’t be working on cars anyway. These are no more dangerous than any other lift. Respect the tool, RTFM, and use your brain and you will be rewarded handsomely.

“The tool has sets of locking arms that hold things up should the jack fail. But it never hurts to have even more redundancy, so don’t throw away those old jack stands.”
They let a “freelance” salesman, their words not mine, work out of their office. I’d say the responsibility falls on them. Any company whose employee goes rogue on the job owns that mess, that’s the way it works, for better or for worse.
Its what you call a “win-win”. I think everyone recognizes the dual motivations.. Lets not forget the tax incentive as well. They could do 2-3 a year and come out ahead.
some are calling it the “Nine Inch Nails” logo, i always saw KTM, because i thought it was funnier.
It’s definitely PR, but it’s one of those nice situations where PR also results in the right thing being done. Gone are the days of Doug DeMuro and numbered are those of Torchinski and, you know, writers who write things we actually want to read. Sadly we’re all here because…
Well, “No good deed goes unpunished”.
This wasn’t a fault of capitalism. It was a thieving salesman compounded with a stupid grandad who let his kid get scammed.
Regardless of their motivations, it’s nice to see they did the kid a solid.
Welcome to jalopnik where the words mean nothing and only the clicks matter.
...the ironically named James Steelman.
Wondering what definition of the South you use that doesn’t include Virginia?
The Lock Picking Lawyer scoffs at your tool usage.
It’s amazing how much you wrote, and still failed to grasp the main point.
It's like a tip line. It's unverified information that gives actual scientists and researchers direction for what relationships to look into. People are using it as a dumpster for nonsense, but it's actually been very helpful in the past to flag certain interactions to look into further with actual science.
Hey, those have been prepped for David Tracy.
That’ll buff out!
