I appreciate it was a mistake but you’ve just given me my new favorite introductory clause.

When the best QB you have ever played with is way past his prime Kurt Warner and...Carson Palmer, and you still have those numbers, that takes some damn good skills
Like, no respect to Larry, but...at this point, isn’t it kinda his fault?
I feel obligated to point out in any article about the Cardinals just how fucking ridiculous the list of quarterbacks that Larry Fitzgerald has played with over the years is. Still, despite this he’s 2nd all time in yards, 3rd (will likely move up to 2nd this season) in receptions, and 6th in TDs. He’s nearly matched…
If I recall, my fellow Bengals fans have a really hard time comprehending the WYTS ethos. Every year, some MAGA chud from Hamilton or Lebanon loses his shit at Magary for being so harsh on our beloved dumpster fire of an also-ran franchise.
Okay, odds are I will never get married or have kids. But in the rare chance that I did both (. . . or either, I guess), I’ve always imagined that there would come a day when I had to explain what the heady zeitgeist of the Clinton and Bush eras felt like.
It’s always going to be Boston. Doesn’t matter the sport or the year or how good or bad the team was the previous year. Boston fans will be the most aggrieved.
Steelers.
A tradition unlike any other...
That one email reminded me of something: Stop calling the fucking owners of your team “Mr. Jeffernut” or whatever as some kind of bizarre form of respect. You’re not talking to the guy, the guy would never, ever talk to you in a billion years because you’re not at his level. How did you prove you’re not at his level?…
What is it about NFL owners that makes them live so long? At first I thought it was superior healthcare, but I think it’s just spite. They know how much we hate them and they figured out how to turn that hate into lifeforce.
“Running is the easier, lazier way to play QB.”
Good point. Just gave this a star so folks will see this. The national hotline warns people immediately that anyone who is worried about their browser’s history should call instead. I’m not sure if the shelter list has incognito.
Diana - I work at a DV shelter in VA so I’m throwing in my two cents. You may want to include whether your resources have a “incognito browsing” option or a way to auto-delete history. Otherwise even clicking on the links may be too risky for a survivor.
The Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence (http://ilcadv.org/index.html) has great resources both for the Chicago Metropolitan area, and the rest of the state as a whole.
I appreciate you posting the info above and inviting everyone to post info for local organizations/shelters. I’m in Charlotte and am so glad this article was published. For help here, go to www.safealliance.org or contact the CRISIS HOT LINE at 704-332-2513 (24/7)
In Denver, SafeHouse Denver operates a 24-hour domestic violence crisis line at (303) 318-9989.
Well done Diana. Great follow-up.
The Marjaree Mason Center in Fresno, CA is a truly fantastic organization. I’ve had the chance to speak with some of the people there and they do amazing work. They not only offer safe housing and crisis support but counseling and really work to help domestic abuse victims get back on their feet.
