King’s Hawaiian is a pale shadow of the what used to be sold at the King’s Bakery in Honolulu back in the 70s.

The Oki-Dog in Hawaii is somewhat controversial as it was competition against a Hawaiian-Okinawan staple called the Waffledog which has a serious following in the fund-raising circuit after being a menu staple the long-lived KC Drive in.

Portuguese bean soup.

Back in the last century, Baseball players like Basketball players were known for the Ball Girls (Groupies) that used to stalk them at the hotels they stayed in on road trips. Supposedly, lots of hook ups happened back then. Oddly, you don’t hear about them anymore.

Restaurant I worked in college had 1 free meal per shift from the menu up to a certain price point but usually not the specials of the day. Free beverages and Pie or ice cream. Usually staff would drink coffee or tea during the shift. Sometime the cooks would make something special if they got free fish from the

Nothing like great Char Siu and Roast Pork. In Honolulu try Nam Fong. I miss the times when my dad used to roast a whole suckling pig. The the crispy skin was to die for.

Also available in the EU.

They need a kids menu that doesn’t take into account age. It shouldn’t matter who orders from it. While some kids will eat a small portion, others will just order from the grown up menu. Plus, as people get older they tend to eat less, so they might want to order from a menu that has kid sized portions.

There were some regional brands in NYC that were pretty good, but I forgot their names. Of the mass market stuff, Sparkling Smart Water is my favorite. No flavors, just carbonation. Very refreshing. No taste like some other brands.

So many people do not like being addressed if they were the servers best bro. Common courtesy on the part of the server should be something owners/managers should be teaching their public staff. No bro, You guys, Uncle, Aunty, Nana, etc.  They should be doing...how may I help you. what can i get for you, basic stuff

Rebuttal

Seems like most of incidents involve either moving vans or rental trucks where the drivers are unfamiliar with the area and the height of the trucks and the bridge. With all the accidents over the years you’d think the bridge would have been compromised at some point. Considering that they’ve put up the warning

Meat loaf is best done with ground veal, lamb, & pork, wrapped in bacon with BBQ sauce. Served with smashed taters. nom, nom, nom...

NYC is such a great place for Seltzer water. Last time I was there, i had a different brand every day. LaCroix absolutely sucks.  You’d be doing yourself a favor by buying local products. Of the commercial stuff, Dasani and Crystal Geyser are much better. A great mix is fresh apple juice mixed with Dasani Lime.

There was problem with contamination in the factories that made these in China a while back.

How about Choward’s Violets and Scented Gum? Used to be sold in restaurants at the cash registers along with Lifesavers and Wrigley’s chewing gum. I think it was a favorite of drinkers trying to cover up the alcohol on their breath.

No mention of Flicks? Used to be a Movie theater staple when I was a kid back in the 60's. I guess it was revived in the aughts, but now no longer available.

Perfect response!
