Yes more of this writing please! Although now I am tempted to make bad decisions when it maybe comes time to move on from my Elise SC...argh!

Same here, was sweating a 2018 RS hard for a while (rented one on Turo and even rented one on the Nurburgring through RSR) but as a daily driver it just wouldn’t work with the ride and ergonomics. That plus shoddy engine reliability with 2 company car Ford Fusions would have me always thinking about head gasket issues…
Rented a CTR in LA for a weekend and it was excellent...except for the styling. I wish Honda would stop trying to convince us non-20's demographic that the shredder helmet styling and red seats are acceptable for an adult professional to pull up to work in.
Finally Turo’d a CTR in the LA canyons a couple weekends ago and it’s a very good car...good power, great gearbox, great brakes, and the ride doesn’t kill you like a Focus RS. However as good as it drove this 35 year old couldn’t get past the outrageous styling to own one.
I am all about this in everyday driving, in our 2 pedal vehicles it’s a no-brainer for all the reasons he mentions... better to develop the muscle memory for your left foot to be able to modulate the brake for smoothness. Only annoying thing is how modern vehicles interlock the brake and throttle to not operate at the…
This all day...the 2ZZ in my Elise is a riot and I just don’t see a twin charged 4 banger having that same character. I’ll take 8000 RPM redlines and angry supercharger whine all day.
Yeah honestly just snap up a Toyota powered Elise while you can, I’m glad I pulled the trigger on a 2008 SC since this headline just validated my concerns. I just can’t see a Geely built engine matching the character and reliability of the 2ZZ.
Yeah being an engineer 13 years into his career more on the technical side, it’s definitely frustrating to realize how many dumb ideas are greenlit by the non-technical personnel in so many organizations (public sector and private sector). People love the sexy sales pitches, don’t want to listen to the hard data that…
I know we will be disappointed when they inevitably say no 6-Speed option but seriously...silky smooth TT Honda V6 with SH-AWD and an excellent manual shifter in a 4-door configuration? Shut up and take my money!
Check your math on the torque numbers bud, you are probably using N-m.
You’re wrong about it being just a track car...it’s actually quite comfortable as a simple weekend fun car from a suspension compliance, control weight, and comfort standpoint IMHO provided you are an average sized person. Procured a 2008 SC last year and my 5' 11" 155lb frame is comfortable as well as my average…
Haha I see, too funny. Personally I would be too worried about someone ralphing in my RS but if you gotta make those car payments...
Chicagoan here so just as bad as MKE. I agree that it’s fine but I am in my 30's and prefer too stiff over floaty...rented a 2016 in LA on Turo and certain roads really highlight the stiff spring rates and damper settings more than others. The pogo affect on the 405 made my wife really uncomfortable but Angeles Crest…
