Our school eliminated the fundraiser sales and now do a flat donation of (ideally) $100 per family or whatever you can afford. Being in a slightly better position than I was for awhile there, we kicked in $150. The kids aren't involved and the communication was done via the weekly e-blast and a direct mailing. No

An excellent point. But I counter- why the HOLY FUCK are ANY OF US schlepping wrapping paper (oh the FUCKING WRAPPING PAPER!) to find our schools?

I'm 90% sure we're a PTO, not PTA, but like I said, I wrote a check and went home.

jokes on them... I don't have a car. That poor Lyft driver...

Those are problems I happily throw money at.

It's a slippery slope law. In my also conflicted pro choice brain, a 7 month pregnancy isn't a clump of cells anymore, it's a baby that is potentially viable outside the womb. And in this case, it appeared to be a wanted, healthy baby, who was murdered by an awful person. BUT I would hate to see a family dealing with

Power moms are bananas. It's why I just wrote a check to the PTA and went home.

I actually DO remember Laura Bush and her work in literacy. However, let's remember that both Mrs Bushes were never given the ludicrous amount of scrunity Clinton and Obama have endured as First Ladies. So, yes, the democrat First Ladies HAVE been treated very differently. Harshly.

What bothers me is that this had potential to be awesome with Karlie Kloss’s interest in encouraging women coders.

Actually, I was referring to SENATOR Clinton’s statement on her now regretted vote to invade Iraq.

Except for using NRA money to get elected, voting against gun control measures, stating that we all know HIS constituents are rural and different from “urban” gun owners. But ignoring criticism on that while questioning Clinton’s admitted votes she’s change now as having poor judgment.

Actually Sanders refuses to categorize himself as a career politician despite FORTY ONE YEARS as a POLITICIAN. Ummm, so yes. It has a lot to do with Sanders and his position as “anti-establishment” and ridiculing Clinton for considering herself in the same manner.

And Bernie has been running for or in elected office since 1974. But I guess MY ENTIRE LIFE is somehow not establishment?

Neither does having a penis, but all the past presidents have had them, so.....

1) it truly sucks that you’re struggling.

I think her comment needed to be a part of a much longer conversation and not a blip on the stupid Bill Maher show.

Agreed. I think in a better context with the proper amount of explanation, Steinem’s comments wouldn't have been the tiniest bit controversial.

Here's why I LOVE Hillary. No one in the world has had a closer look at how hard being POTUS is going to suuuuuuck. It ages you, the pay is terrible when you consider the hours and intrusion into your life. Roughly half your employers will literally hate you. And she wants the gig anyway. That's not power hungry.

That Obamacare and Sanders universal healthcare? Hillary was ripped to shreds and told to sit down and shut up about it in 1992. So, no, she didn't come up with it after someone else did. Those men she pandered to got credit for HER work.

Nah. My mom still gets me Valentine candy, a Christmas stocking and an Easter basket. In her mind, 41 or 7, I'm her first baby. (She gets stuff for my dumb brothers too, but that's just so they don't feel left out or something... I'm still the golden child...)
