I know. I have a Fiat Panda sitting in Malaysia I'd love to bring here.

There were two cars (well three) that I hoped would find a way into the US after the 25 year rule timed out. The VW polo. The Mercedes Unimog. And the G Wagon.
If I play my cards right, in the next two years I’ll call mine Greandier.
The former German car tech in me (that also serviced Volvos) tel me to run away.
Mam the number of guns and dildos left in repo cars never stopped amazing me.
Oh I got a good 4-5 more decades of life left. So you’ll have my influence for a good long time.
That and Mercedes people were the worst.
I had that conversation with him. This was decades ago but I believe I said something like, you know, you still will need to pay for that.
I did repo for a while and most people know you are coming for the car. You mostly pull up around 1-2 am and hook it up, the knock on the door and ask if they want to get their stuff out. Maybe 85-90% of the people were cool. But that last 10-15% was the reason people stop doing it.
I don’t like doing double posts but this one might be worth it. For any van lifers that read jalopnik, after you are done pooping in a bucket in a Home Depot parking lot (in an area you aren’t contributing to the tax base) They are giving away land of you promise to build a house there. https://nebraskapublicmedia.org/…
I showed this picture around the break room at my work. Every person to the person reaction was, what the fuck! About 30 people total.
I want to be civil here, but I'm not sure I can be.
I know I’m one of those skilled tradesmen. I’m an automation engineer but just yesterday I had to hand machine a bunch of custom parts for a machine.
For anyone wondering why some supply chains took so long to get going, this a good (albeit much more complicated) example of why you can’t just shut manufacturing plants down.
Boomer? Are you 12 or are you just that age emotionally and in your responses.
Oh I know that. I just didn’t want to go in that direction. But that is a good point. They are basically an invasive species that moved somewhere more beneficial to their day to day.
Oh the butt hurt is strong.
Am I the only one that has always wanted to see the NASA crawler run over a car or twenty?
As a resident of Arizona all I can say is not it. We’ve already absorbed enough of Californias homeless (fentanyl addicts) population and don’t need the van lifers here. Maybe they can start a commune out in the (California, not Arizona) desert instead of siphoning resources from a neighborhood were they don’t…
So you are saying on the grand scale they still deprecate further (but slower) than an Mercedes S class.
