It was always an arbitrary line in the sand that some old broadcasters were holding. I do think it’s a sort of poetic justice that the first player to do it is a closer, because thats another subcategory that those same old timers were devaluing.

Is this another episode of R U Talking U2 to Me?

I only knew a few when I lived in LA (none now that i live in Texas), but I suspect you’re right.  They seem to all be finding their own personal system that works for them.  There doesn’t seem to be any overriding constant, aside from the no meat part.

This is the correct answer.  If you include insects, the answer is “most.”

I bought my first Porsche in 2018. A new 718 Cayman S. I thought it handled much better than the 911. Can’t say I prefer the sound of the turbo 4 over the flat 6, but it is super quick and the PDK transmission is shockingly good.  And damn, the Black on Black with 20" black satin wheels looks so good.

you make an interesting point about plants being pollinated by insects.  But I can confirm that many will not eat honey, which involves no suffering.

I think the old elephants are killed by dental breakdown.  When they can no longer grind down the vegetation, they starve and die.

I disagree with your conclusion on 911 vs cayman. Buy the 911 if your main interest is impressing other people. But if you’re looking for the more fun drive? I think the Cayman (specifically the GTS or even the S) is actually more fun. Mid engine makes a huge difference.

“too bad.”

What a dipshit. My new least favorite person in all sports

This is some old school Japanese face saving where the employee is punished and apologizes for the transgressions of the boss.  So sad.

I love your stuff, Gita.  This piece was excellent.

I just bought a 2018 Cayman S.  I do miss the sound of the 6 cylinder, but the performance on the turbo 4 is undeniable.

I really enjoyed this piece.

The inability to stop behavior in the face of repeated adverse consequences. Yeah, I think that qualifies.

This was a reasonable argument right up until the last sentence. You made some valid points about the definition of maturity and what you believe “true maturity” is. But I don’t recall calling anyone better than anyone else. I made two points: 1) his decision to be more inclusive to younger viewers was his to make,

except continuing to act like a teenager when you’ve grown into an adult, just to keep your pre-teen viewers, is acting.

uh, looking at the big picture and making a business decision that will benefit you is being mature. As opposed to say, continuing to play a roll you don’t believe in to satisfy a toxic community so you can maintain your reddit cred.
