The problem with this, as with any kind of “regulation should be abolished” position, is that the law is the only protection independent artists have.

Reform is the only achievable option. As any system project manager will attest, you never replace a brownfield project wholesale. The correct way to fix the problems in a system like copyright is to break the existing system down into its natural parts - in service of specific objectives - and repair each in-place

In other words it’s something that’ll be lightly hinted at at best, even in TOTK, because Nintendo has consistently shown they care way less about lore than people with access to the internet and a ton of free time.

I’m not cheering for Disney’s success, I’m just celebrating Ron’s failures.

I appreciate opening it up for discussion.

Mario’s greatest strength is that he is nothing, and Mario’s greatest weakness is that he is nothing.

I don’t like Illumination Studios, I understand that movies need to make money, but I truly believe this is a studio in which the higher ups are devoid of artistry. This is the

I mean maybe, just MAYBE, if your content is contingent on playing nice with someone else’s intellectual property — especially a notoriously litigious company like Nintendo — it would be a good idea not to do something they’re known for getting pissy about?

The vast majority of the general gaming population have zero idea the Series X/S were even capable of emulation, let alone it being a selling point.

There’s basically zero chance that Microsoft’s decision to take these down was influenced by Kotaku’s reporting.

...are we really going to write entire articles now about how we somehow expected the Super Mario Movie to be anything more than just a full-length nostalgia bonanza??

I watched it with a group yesterday. Couple adults and their kids, and all of us, adults and kids had fun. The movie gets a ton of hate from critics on the internet, but i found it very enjoying. There isn’t much in terms of story or character development here, but i actually enjoyed that. It’s a short(less then 90

I think people disappointed about this movie being middle of the road children-focused fare are forgetting what the games are. And they I doubt they have any idea what they wanted in a Mario movie and got their expectations raised to absurd levels. It was fine. All it needed to be.

In other words....it sounds like a Mario Game.

Its why Modern Warfare 2 went back to the basics. They finally figured out that a huge majority of the people who play are casual fans wanting to enjoy the game with a buddy, and decided to cater to them more

I just skimmed through the trailer but, uh... I can see myself losing another 200 hours to this game. Jeez. The amount of time I’m gonna waste just by coming up with dumb vehicles.

it’s for smash bros fans who hate smash bros. y’know, the ‘competitive’ players. they made the smash-like they dreamed of.

The game just felt so soulless and mechanical to me.” this is exactly what happens when you take the kind of smash players who hate the chaos of smash bros and have them design their own smash-like game.

But still, many found it strange that just a few days ago, Nintendo would share a video about a bowling range in Breath of the Wild’s Hyrule rather than take the opportunity to drum up excitement for its sequel, which has remained remarkably shrouded in secrecy even two months before its planned release.

I’d honestly respect the lack of couch co-op more if they’d just said that it’s because nobody uses it on PC and left the stupid battle.net thing out.

Those that remember Freelancer fondly need to understand that the game was only finished because he was taken off of it.

Freelancer lacked final polish but it was actually really good.
