Yes! The scene of Black Cindy's conversion to Judaism is absolutely beautiful. Wonderfully acted. Hope to see more of her.

I was enjoying Mitchell's Slade House, but I accidentally left it on a plane. Ugh.
If you like the story, check out Fink's full book version, Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death at a Storm-Ravaged Hospital. She digs pretty deep into the inner workings and bureaucracy of the healthcare industry, which essentially created the situation at Memorial.
Hmmm perhaps an Annihilation movie will finally help me visualize what the fuck the "crawler" is supposed to look like.
Yes! JS&MN so perfectly captured the essence and tone of the book.
Agreed! I really wanted to love the book(s)/show but I just couldn't get behind Garabaldon's idea of a what a "villain" should be. It felt like she was brainstorming a list of all the things she thought were awful with "being gay" at the top of the list.
Super scary! Last I read the part where the killer bro described the feeling of slitting a throat and hitting the bone of the spinal cord. I threw up in my mouth just typing that.
I'm trying to get to The Price of Salt before seeing Carol. Cate Blanchett… yaaassss queen.
Oscar Wao is pretty fantastic. I've been meaning to go back and give it the 'ol re-read one of these days
Almost finished with Krakauer's Under the Banner of Heaven and learned all sorts of fun stuff about Mormonism! Adam Johnson's Fortune Smiles is on my nightstand and I can't wait to get started with that one.
I tried to figure out which Realiti version I liked better…. it was a tie. One of the greatest songs ever.
That's good to know, I was intrigued after the first but not sure if I wanted to continue.
Finished A Little Life last night. I liked the book but couldn't believe that a child who had been raped for years could cognitively develop into a high powered lawyer with multiple master's degrees. But I still cried, oh how I cried.
Looking forward to John Mulaney's special, especially since a review said that he picks on religion quite a bit.
I'm infected too! It's spreading!!!
I grabbed Richard McGuire's Here on a whim and found myself incredibly moved by this graphic novel (which features very little text). It reminds you of how insignificant we are in the vast expanse of history, but in a way that is awe-inspiring and not too depressing.
mmmm…. barbacoa breakfast…
We're heading to Oaxaca for Dia de los Muertos next week and I look forward to finding out if it's possible for a human being to have too many tamales. Ole!
Be able to rave about Atwood is actually in most librarian job descriptions.
Deep Water sounds up my alley. It's been a busy few weeks so I haven't gotten past the first few pages of Hangsaman without falling asleep each night (I have a long flight coming up so I'll be able to give it thorough attention then!). I finished Wolf in White Van a few weeks ago and still don't quite know what to…
