Agreed. I was hate-reading by the end.
Agreed. I was hate-reading by the end.
I read them all over a summer vacation once and it basically took over my brain. Suffice it to say, it was a fantastic summer.
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts about the end. I was engrossed at the start but things got a little strange for me (but that's just me!).
Hangsaman sounds fabulous. Many thanks to whoever plugged Hornsby's Funny Girl a few weeks ago. I absolutely loved it.
We placed our bets and bought tix to see them this fall in Toronto before they even released any singles off this. Sigh……. Hopefully they'll at least bring the brass section for the older songs.
Make sure to watch Community's Ken Burns episode when you're finished! A delight!
I want to go to there
I randomly picked up some Domaine de Canton (a French ginger liqueur) and I've been adding it to just about every beverage since. Just a little splash can really liven up some bottom-shelf bourbon.
Started Bojack Horseman as background noise/entertainment while I cook dinner. Love hearing paul f thompkins in any capacity
The Church of Marvels. Characters are a bit too zany and odd to be realistic, but it's still been enjoyable thus far. Finished Jonathan Strange (both the book and the tv series) last week and realllly want there to be more!
Agree! We saw them at Bonnaroo a few years back and while I wasn't expecting too much going in (as they're so mellow), the live show was energetically beautiful.
Smart move with the pesto. Did you make your own gnocchi? I bought a potato ricer with visions of home-made, pillowy gnocchi but never got around to it.
American Gods also has that one monster goddess that swallows up human men with her vagina… so there's that..
Keane! If you haven't sang "Crystal Ball" at max volume in your shower, you haven't truly lived.
An ice cream party is a fantastic idea! Chanterelle mushrooms are popping up around here so pretty much our dinners consist of a foraging walk followed by risotto with our finds.
Ellroy's Perfidia. Enjoyable once you can keep track of all of the characters. I have a tendency, like most Americans, to think that everyone who lived during WWII was a wholesome gem. This book gleefully destroys that mythos.
