Her books are what elevated her to heroine status for me. I always loved her and looked up to her as Leia when I was a girl, but reading “Postcards from the Edge” for the first time after my own diagnosis of bipolar disorder made me see her as so much more. She has a way of apologising for her actions while never

“I tell my younger friends that one day they’ll be at a bar playing pool and they’ll look up at the television set and there’ll be a picture of Princess Leia with two dates underneath, and they’ll say ‘”awww - she said that would happen.’”

Same. she meant so much to so many little girls like me when we were growing up. my poor dad struggled mightily with the “Princes Leia side buns”. Many hair grips were sacrificed in their lopsided honor. Sending all the best to Carrie Fisher and her loved ones.

I was just randomly searching about something else Star Wars related and came across this picture and it made me smile:

Carrie is one with the Force and the Force is with her.

Princess Lei was my first feminist icon @6 yrs old.

And I would add that HIV is only treatable with long-term medications that can be extraordinarily expensive and have their own ill-effects. If someone does not have access to health insurance, they might not be able to afford those medications for the rest of their lives. And for some, the side-effects and

Not all of us crazy dog people are like that! Some of us call our dogs our babies (not human, but still my baby) and spend all of our money on them without bothering anyone else.

For a long time, insurance was actually illegal because it was viewed as a form of gambling. Which it is.

And these guys somehow don’t realize how incredibly super-villainous they sound?

My late uncle, who was married to mom’s middle sister, was a direct descendant of Rebecca Nurse. Wonder how this ties in with Romney and Braff?

Confession time: I LOVED Garden State. When I was in high school, I must’ve watched that movie a dozen times. I loved that whole “Good luck exploring the infinite abyss!” “Hey, you too!” I thought that was so great. And I definitely bought the whole soundtrack and listened to it many many many times. I haven’t seen it

It is weird. Like, I guess it’s a hot take, now, to be all super cynical so you rewrite what actually happened. This election was so close that something like this could have most definitely goosed turnout just enough that Hillary could have pulled this off.

The people who say “it wouldn’t have changed anything” clearly did not pay attention to the campaign.

Clinton lost because the story the last two weeks of the election was the Comey letter, and emails. Trump’s strategy after that was to lay low, not say anything at all, and stay out of the news.

***Ted!***

If you’re going to sell your soul, the damn buffet better be good.

I rather like this one.

Because if it was disease, it could spread.

Look. I get it. A lot of shitty stuff has happened this year. But this is getting a bit ridiculous. Just Google “Wedding Party Death 2015" and you get an idea of how with thousands of Weddings happening everyday, very bad shit happens at some of them at least once a year.

If we keep blaming the arbitrary time

Does it matter? It was clearly dead and therefore posed a risk. Why it hadn’t been dealt with / removed is the crux of the matter, especially as it was in a public space.
