I’m wondering how long it’ll be before someone tries to swipe one of those covers (without the barricade, ofc, unless they’re feeling really ambitious.) I can see it now : “Honey, I could make it into a body pillow! Or as a fancy blanket for the dog bed! Look, it says Tiffany&Co! Do you think you could distract those

Yeah, that stuck out. Also the other CGI “human”.

I loved this movie. I love the original trilogy but for movies based on a galactic rebellion against an evil empire, they are almost totally bloodless. This movie felt like a rebellion, like there were actual stakes, and the story felt realistic and beautiful and thankfully not the least bit superfluous. I was worried

I really wish they had taken a step back and realized the Tarkin CGI was terrible. If more of that had been axed (or if they had somehow convinced Tom Hiddleston to take on the role), a lot could be forgiven.

Still a great Star Wars movie, but whenever he was in frame it pulled me out.

Being first lady isn’t really a job though. If Melania doesn’t want to do it, that’s okay. Might give VP a bit more to do, but usually the first ladies are looking for causes to take up, they have no real responsibilities other than appearances. First ladies are the ceremonial monarchs of the United States.

It chaps my ass that SNL portrays her that way.

Actually there have been two (James Buchanan and Grover Cleveland, though Cleveland got married while he was in office), plus 4 presidents who were widowers are the time of their inauguration. It should also be noted that while all of these men had relatives who occasionally filled in for hosting duties, only one of

In US history, there’s only been one bachelor president and IIRC his niece was First Lady. It’s possible to go without one,  but it’s never been done in the US.

Look, it’s information overload. Every hour gives us new, damning evidence about Trump’s ‘win’. I think people are so overwhelmed that they’re tuning out now.

I hate it when people just use the province when they would use a city name for anywhere else.

RIP Alan Thicke. There is one good thing to say about his demise, though it came far too soon: not only is having a heart attack while playing hockey a super Canadian way to go, but he died doing something he loved, with someone he loved, and it was relatively fast. Yesterday I visited a friend in a palliative care

How about moving to Washington where the seat of government and the security is all based? Too bad that shit hole of a town doesn’t meet their exalted standards.

I had to respond to this one, this is just dumb, I dont know if you remember but Obama was the first time I remember seeing the president behind a bullet resistant wall to give a speech in public. Do we still blame the liberals there ?

Emma Stone is really the only one who doesn’t look good in black apparently. Stick with the jewel tones, girl

That’s how Toyota became so successful. Initially, they sacrificed short-term profits for long term sustanibility. You’re right, of course companies like this are not U.S. based.

Thank you. I am an accountant and I thought my job safe forever, however some corporations are starting to outsource accouting departments to India because it’s cheaper. It is a scary trend for me personally and on a professional level because accounting is not just data input.

So much THIS.

I think one basic line to draw is publicly vs privately-held corporations (also, for privately-held companies, closely-held vs not).

I don’t understand why this isn’t obvious to people. It’s how the entire economy is set up - labor vs. corporate. Despite what SCOTUS said, companies aren’t people and they don’t have ethics. Especially ones where a CEO doesn’t stay on board for more than 5-10 years. If there’s a way to increase profits, they’ll do

Maybe if we paint the robots brown, they’ll start railing against them instead of Mexican farmhands.
