But like horse armor, most will likely not change what they buy over it. So it will quite possibly end up the same way, regardless of how loud you or the majority of us here bitch about it.

The only thing I wanted from Ubisoft for over a decade now is Beyond good and evil 2. But there is no way in hell that I’ll be buying it(if it ever comes out) with the way Ubisoft is behaving. There is no way in hell I’ll support a company this despicable, greedy and corrupt.

If they’re going to ignore the backlash, then there’s only one thing left: never buying anything from them until they change.

I don’t think its a matter that all people consciously believe that “white is right.” It’s that our society normalizes these ideas to the point that people think its normal. And it only becomes a problem when art actively goes against this. We don’t question why Batman has to be white, but good lord do people take…

But when it comes to actually CHANGING things, that’s when people discover they are not nearly so open-minded as they think. A great example is zoning; you can get lots of people onboard with the idea of reforming zoning laws until they discover that might mean a building taller than usual or some marginal property…

sometimes I wonder as a 5 year old me was inoculated against this stuff 30 years ago thanks to a random Beverly Hillbillies episode. To be honest, I applaud their constant efforts to “throw shit at the walls and see what sticks” when it comes to the approval of new projects.

Because they’re often still good for business, and yeah it’s part of being a pro. Just look at Tom Brady and the Patriots (American Football). They cheated repeatedly and got caught a couple times but never substantially punished because people love cheaters who are on ‘their’ team.
