I will never understand the hatred for Meghan Trainor on this site. It’s bland pop music, along with what seems like everything else that falls under top 40ish (is that still a thing?) music these days. Why single out Trainor? It’s weird.
ICE. This kills me, even nice bars that are known for great cocktails or have a great booze selection so frequently use watery, thin machine made ice. I like square ice cubes, medium or one big one, but square damn it. Or, and I’ve only seen this at a couple places, ice chipped off of a giant block is pretty damn…
So much this. They get all the reward of parents being excited they tried something and liked it and then bail once they’ve reaped that initial praise.
This is a cool idea. We’re a mixed faith family and my wife has been looking for ways to add more Jewish traditions throughout the year because Christmas and Easter are so overwhelming (and easy sells for younger kids). We’ve started to doing shabbos(sp?) candles on Fridays because who doesn’t like fire? But…
That may work for some kids, but it’s as likely to cause them to not eat the mac and cheese because it’s touching the things they don’t like (or think they don’t like).
Love this idea but trying to get my incredibly picky 3 y/o to eat things in any kind of order is going to be a bigger fight that may not be worth the payoff. Maybe when she’s a littler older and more familiar with board game structure?

Haha - to be honest I was indifferent until I started working in Boston with a bunch of BC alum. You guys brought this on yourselves.
Loving the warm welcome! Can’t wait to try the BBQ.
Great story behind the colors; clearly I made a good choice.
My college didn’t have a football team, and I’m from the Northeast where you don’t generally root for a college program you didn’t attend just because they’re local. If anything you root against them (eat shit BC!). My sundays are dominated by football and w/ two kids under 4 I’m thankful I get to watch the Pats…
Can’t stop laughing at this. Excellent anecdote. Thank you for sharing.
I generally pack the gin away after labor day but summer seems to be still fully in effect here on the east coast; will definitely try this week. Are lime leafs something you can pick up at wholefoods type places?
I’d put my overall handiness, at least for my generation, at a solid C (which is a babyboomer D+, and a WWII generation F-).
Honestly, isn’t it already gamified? Except each person is using their own scoring system. I definitely see value in aligning the relative importance, time, and enjoyableness (or lack there of) of parenting and household tasks.
Wow, this came at a great time- with two kids under 3 1/2, so much of the arguments my wife and I have are around the division of labor. As parents, and husband and wife, we are on the same page about nearly everything else. But something about that 2nd kid while your first is still in diapers really turns two…
“Friday Night’s a Great Night for Football,” the song used in the opening credits for the made-up football league in The Last Boyscout, is the best football opening song of all time.
That was the part I was missing - not ‘cooperating’ was against the CBA, and ‘Cooperation’ is extended to ‘give us your cel phone’. Amazing that any CBA could be written in a way where a public figure can be punished for not surrendering their personal cel phone, to a leak-prone, vendetta carrying, shit-show of an…
SAME. I hate these agencies with the fire of a thousand suns. I cannot for the life of me log back into my transunion account. They’re using account questions / answers that weren’t even in place when I signed up.
