It wasn’t that she was so bad, it seemed to me that Curtis lacked the effortless chemistry with the other actors and Alley. ST has always been very dependent upon chemistry between the characters. Curtis was a good actor, the magic simply wasn’t there on the screen.
Alley demanded more for her part than Shatner & Nimoy were getting for theirs in that film.
