My wife comes home from work at the ER with the wildest stories regarding vehicularely (I know that's not really a word, but it does sort of fit) ejected humans, these stories are morbidly/grotesquely entertaining (when it concerns of age adults, not children), and provide hours of conversation between us.

IIRC, he would shut it off, and quickly put the key back to where all of the lights come on, leaving the steering unlocked. To my dad's credit, it was usually the last hill on Hwy 36, coming into Boulder, CO, where he would shut it off and coast, I can't imagine having to try to panic stop fighting the power brakes.

My dad used to SHUT OFF the car while coasting down Colorado mountain passes, sooo...that seems totally within reason for you to do, Mr. Torch.
