I’m not even going to get any joy out of that, because Trump and his ilk will still be so insulated from the backlash when it comes. The people he’s conned won’t be able to get to him and his rich collaborators, so who do you think they’re going to take it out on?

This is what made me love Obama even more. He did the hard thing in trying to work with Trump even after all the terrible things he said. He didn’t make it personal, he knew what was important so he used the chance he had to try & get Trump to see another point of view. I swear that must have been the hardest thing…

Bexit was already an example of this direction... Poland, Hungary and Turkey are already there. So, yeah, it’s already pretty much happening. With LePen on board, there’s basically no one left to fight the good fight except Germany (oh, the irony) and Canada.

Obama actually gives a shit about people and the country, though. I think he’d feel like he was letting his ethical standards lapse for petty reasons.

Honestly? He probably is trying to prevent Trump from turning everything over to Pence. Trump is a horrid asshole, but Pence is a True Believer monster.

Probably because he absolutely knows it’s best for the country, including all those that voted for him. And he’s a decent person.

Obama is so brilliant. He is more upset than any of us because he knows what the job takes, and he knows Trump will undo everything he did in eight years. But by positioning himself as a trusted advisor to Trump, he’ll be able to influence his policies or at least keep some of the crazy at bay.

Not go wherever he wants. That’s one of the most jarring things for most people: Secret Service controlling your life.

Expect a lot of resignations then. I can’t picture working for Obama for 8 years and suddenly be okay with working for a cheez whiz goblin.

As soon as Clinton and Obama reached out to Trump, his manic desire to be loved by everyone immediately kicked into gear and he began walking back many of his previous positions- on deportations, on the prosecution of Bill and Hillary, and on his language concerning undocumented immigrants who haven’t committed…

What’s really sad and scary is that the US will be on the wrong side. This is what has been keeping me up at night. This coming from someone who was in the Marines. Our troops will fuck up whoever they are told to fuck up. I have no idea what’s in store for us.
