From what I can gather the original glitch resulted from Mii data being imported from the previous Japan-exclusive Tomodachi game. This resulted in random Miis taking over relationships that resulted in same-sex relationships.

The levels don't mean much at this point... most of the insanely good people have started from scratch and mediocre people have been playing long enough that their levels are high.

I've yet to get my hands on A Hat in Time, unlike the completely smitten Patricia Hernandez, so all i have to go on are her impressions and what I've seen in trailers. That might change soon, as the game's alpha build is available now to preorderers and appropriate level Kickstarter backers, so all I need is a spare…
