there’s a bitter irony after The Curse that Emma Stone wound up robbing an Indigenous woman of her big award opportunity.

Someone else pointed out the idea of AVClub not covering SNL for a weekend.  What would be the consequences of doing that?  Does the SNL story bump up engagement with AVClub significantly?

“Writer”

Yeah, that part appears to be made up by the writer of this article.

Lots of slow days at the outrage mill so far this year...

Agreed. They SUPER want me to be emotionally invested in the careers of Shane Gillis and Issa Lopez, and like...no? There are thousands of other things to watch, and I’m not particularly invested in the success or failure of these two working creators?

I feel like Morgan Wallen still didn’t get that much fame, really?

Because Footloose is a terrible, terrible movie?

Where’s the music that’s danceable, and doesn’t make you want to impale your ears with rusted sporks? Show me that and I’ll show you a dance movie.

This warrants a special mention, because it’s hilarious:

The Sopranos has a couple of fantastic seasons, and a couple of meandering ones. It’s never bad, but it’s not uniformly good. The Wire, on the other hand, is uniformly good.

Everyone did not love The Sopranos. It was definitely more popular than The Wire, that I will certainly grant you. However, I was never able to get into The Sopranos while I thought The Wire was excellent. I watched all of it. I will further note that I don’t love The Wire. I recognize its artistic excellence, but

I liked The Wire way better than The Sopranos.  I actually never even finished Sopranos.

They did, but if you read what he actually said he didn't actually confirm it.

I didn’t love it. It was a solid show, and maybe I was taking it out of context bingeing it after the series had ended (it was a pioneer), but I’ve found it to be vastly overrated.
