You actually have it backwards; I was basing the old Toyota’s reliability on the reputation of the Tacoma I already owned. Good try though.

You left out the part where you swore a blood-oath to counter any positive thing said about Toyota and interject how K-car’s are the pinnacle of automotive engineering.

In Dec 2004, I bought a 1987 FJ60 while home for xmas break. I drove it 1200 miles from Missouri to Boston into the worst snowstorm that Boston had seen since 1977. It did not have one bit of trouble even with just shy of 300,000 miles on it. There are few vehicles I would put that level of trust in.

Seems to me that water the same height as the wheels shouldn’t pose much of problem for such a “capable” SUV.  That’s why I think the design is defective.

Ok: hey Long_Voyager’s 2012 Corolla S. Toyotas are better than most vehicles!

You are correct, Toyotas are better than most vehicles.

So you’re saying Land Rover design is defective, Toyota design is not. Gotcha.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 4 cylinder offered in the U.S. It is every bit as bulletproof as the old diesels and 22RE gas engines. It gets a bad rap because its dragging around a 3900 lb (minimum) carcass.

Bababooie, perhaps you should click on something else, somewhere else.

Project Binky on youtube. Mighty Car Mods also on youtube. Good car stuff but even better people.

Did the legal department have the day off today?

I ran the data you provided through the computer.  The results state you should transport your family inside of a cow.

“Obama Fuel Rules”

Well finally making good business decisions* will prevent a second bailout.

“Good thing you’re not an engineer.” This was the first response to me and I’m guilty of having an “attitude”?

I love how being critical of something is now considered “hate” and I’m now labelled a “hater”. Does that make you a hater too since you are critical of my criticism?

That giant top-heavy cruise ships are a disaster waiting to happen. Not sure how that wasn’t clear.

Since a modern slushbox Hyundai is faster, you’d be buying it for beauty anyway :)
