I didn’t read the article. Voted nice price on looks alone; I just love the way these cars are styled. It’s the same appeal Group B rally cars have for me for some strange reason.

Ok so here’s the difference as I see it. There is center of gravity and buoyancy. But the added problem with the cruise ship is the distance above the water. As they go higher and higher, they (naval architects) are making longer levers which can be acted upon by big waves. Those same big waves that aircraft carriers…
Good thing indeed. What exactly does that have to do with my post? I’m willing to bet your life that a loaded cruise ship wouldn’t be able to survive the waves that break over the deck of an aircraft carrier. Those certainly DO exist.
Whew, that’s a relief. Good thing waves only exist one at a time.
One is at the bottom of the ocean. The other is one good wave away from tipping over and joining the first.
Curious what mountain range is in Dearborn...
“...you *cough* no longer have a left nut sack.”
Nothing Urban Dictionary can’t handle.
Might be a good idea to add /s to a statement like that.
BULL FUCKING SHIT. You are supporting someone that is racist to the core and has a documented history of it long before he became president.
I realize there is a difference between and old jeep and a modern convertible, however, trying to put a cold vinyl top back on is really difficult. It could damage the material if its too stiff.
TLDR: It’s the nuclear arms race all over again. Widely regarded as bad, but since “the other guys” have no morals, we are compelled to do it too.
It would take a lot. Weight is a problem. My base SR access cab with rear seat delete is still close to 4,000 pounds. That said, that weight in the frame allows it to haul a 1/2 ton without breaking a sweat.
Still waaaaaaaaaay cooler than those aftermarket angry jeep grills.
I like Jeeps and you are somewhat right. But you fail to see the benefit. Their popularity trickles down to those of us that use them and appreciate them for what they are. That trickle-down comes in the form of a strong aftermarket and a supply of used vehicles for years to come. Don’t believe me? Look at CJ’s or…
Riiight, it couldn’t be that she is just an exceptionally horrible person and that most Prius owner’s just want a cheap, efficient appliance....which I guess is also an affront to your delicate Jalop sensibilities.
Yeah, I was confusing CV shaft with drive shaft. Anyway, the MGR got me daydreaming about converting my CJ...
We have reached a point where the animosity towards the Prius is more annoying the Prius driver.
I read the press-release. I can’t find where they got rid of the CV shaft. Did they mount the motor where the rear diff would normally go (like a Tesla)?
It’s difficult to make lightweight electric motors and having all that unsprung weight directly in the wheel hub makes suspension design tough. I still think mounting the motor where the diff is still has benefits since CV drive axle efficiency and weight are about the only penalties.
