AWD hybrid is good thinking. Better yet, Toyota, how about a hybrid Tacoma! I know this gets thrown around a lot here, but its about the only thing I would trade my current Tacoma in on.

A Colorado isn’t a bad choice.  I was on the fence but ultimately chose my Tacoma.

Some parks require packing out ALL solid waste. I’ve only ever used an aluminum tank with a seat, but I’m guessing a plastic bag could be added to the milk crate.

I’m with you regarding diapers: eww. But a box is much different than a cathole. First, you don’t really worry about a cathole leaking. Second, you aren’t stuck in an aluminum next to said cathole.  Third, 1 and 2 should be plenty.
