yeah, because its just so simple to shift the entire nation to accommodate a form of transportation that just doesn't work in our scale.

or because our mass transit systems are such garbage, its still easier to take my own car.

take my town of Houston for example. the Bus and tram system here is UTTER shit. and Houston is probably the king of urban sprawl, more or less 23 miles both north south and east west staying inside the second loop highway

for a serious answer to this, yet again there is no one easy answer. Raising the gas tax probably isn't a terrible idea, but it isn't enough. its going to require a major influx of money from all corners of the country, and a restructure of how we spend what we already have. and in today's political climate, that shit

here's an idea, massive overhaul of the licensing program in addition to the infrastructure spending. lets stop letting the lowest common denominators drive until they pass a demanding test that requires true competency behind the wheel. bonus points; fewer cars on the road (meaning less traffic, emissions, etc),

and when was the last time one of those law abiding citizens just opened up on a cop? sorry buddy, but that's a big fat steamy pile of shit.

you loose me at the AF

more to the point, Ford puts out two of the best rice slayers around. unless you feel like jumping up to the Golf.

excluding the Mazda 3, you couldn't pay me to own a Japanese compact car today.

i wanted it to be successful till they so horribly botched the launch. and given the full on WAR that the NSX is going to be wading in to, i dont see it being a runaway hit like Honda wants. it just doesn't have the right badge for some, and it wont have balls out performance to make up for that.

ive had the fortune of driving both the Camaro and a newer Mustang. not the sharpest tools in the shed, but exponentially better than their past. the Challenger R/T fills a bit of a weird niche, its the least powerful of the smaller V8's in the heaviest car. the first few years of SRT8's fill the power gap better.

i think that plastic crossbar is for the euro license plate, the US spec car might not have that and it would vastly improve the look

my point still stands, sporty "cheap" hybrid has been tried and so far failed miserably. you just cant build a fast enough ICE to lug around the batteries and keep it cheap.

except this IS Honda, who seems to have rather lost their way when it comes to performance cars. if they build a Type-R (big damn if) then i suspect it will have a modest bump in power while most of the improvements will be fiddling with the AWD and hybrid systems.
and Audi gets away with the two engines in the R8

and the cycle of beige continues!

and those people are foolish, most American cars are as good if not better than their import counterparts in varying classes. but that 30 years of utter failure is a hard mark to scrub off.

and for that 40 K, the only imports i can think of are the Genesis and the Z. the Z is garbage, the Genesis isnt bad, but i can

a point ive made about that thing all along. they bench marked it against cars that were new when it was a new idea, and completely failed to realize just how fast horsepower would advance in that decade.

and the GT. and the mid engined Vette.

the next few years, will be AWESOME

this is how the world should work, the best of the last car leading the development of the new car to make it even better.

not true, Honda tried this with the CRZ and it failed miserably.

and because of a deal Francis has with the major networks to make sure NASCAR gets its TV spot. he is more than happy to throw all that money his family is sitting on at the networks to make sure they keep rolling it in.

at least GRC has done a pretty good job at getting noticed, thats much more enjoyable to watch.

and

then why start with the Camry? the ultimate beige mobile.

a TRD corolla could make sense, performance and compact have a good history. granted this would toss them into the ring with the Focus ST and that is Fords game 100 percent right now.

not necessarily true. the ponies are certainly bigger cars, but with the new Camaro due out next year, it and the Stang are not the straight line missiles they used to be. they have the cornering chops, and would have over 100 more HP to make up for the extra girth everywhere but a very short technical track. id also
