I love conservative evangelicals. Even when they’re trying to humble and self effacing, they can’t really hide the disdain they have for everyone who isn’t exactly like them.

It won’t go anywhere. Prosecuting a criminal case with no witnesses, no accusers, and no physical evidence is not possible. You need someone to go on the record saying that it happened to them and the woman in this case has chosen not to for her reasons — I don’t think that she should be forced to, either. 

If Bernie is dead then why couldn’t Republicans repeal and replace Obamacare last year? They would have been able to pass it if Sanders wasn’t physically present on the Senate floor that night. Mathematically it doesn’t add up.

Exactly. I think people who are a hard “no” on abortion are not going to be moved by the grisly suffering of women. If they were, then their position would have already been at least more nuanced or conciliatory to begin with.

I think the reason why it’s strange is that we just endured an entire generation of Democrats surrendering state and local races to the Republicans. Yeah, you would think after the whole “16 & Pregnant” / “Teen Mom” / “Unexpected” phenomena we would have decoupled (no pun intended) having sex with wisdom. 

I think it’s the same logic as honor killings and other forms of domestic violence. “You made me mad, so it’s okay for me to assault or rape or kill you”.
