This is on point. She can love the OP to the moon and back but if she doesn’t care enough about herself to sober up, it’s not going to happen. It’s often much easier to love someone else than to love ourselves and that’s part of why addiction is so hard to kick.

Thanks for this! I somehow wound up with two accounts and hadn’t thought about sharing as a way to merge them. Super helpful.

Subjunctive mood is used incorrectly in songs all the time and it drives me batty.

I did. I halfway have an eye on the new Oasis, but in truth my Voyage is just fine. I’m hoping the other models will get a software update giving us access to the additional font sizes so I won’t be as tempted.

I really wish you could teach it to pronounce place names. My kingdom for this and giving me a GPS toggle on the control center.

Wait, so they hired the same actors to play different characters than on their previous show?

Seconded, but with coworkers. I used to cover for parent colleagues pretty often if they needed to leave early, trade tasks, etc. until I asked one of them to cover for me and they balked because my reason wasn’t good enough. That was the end of any special consideration on my end.

Seconded. My vision is too poor to read the small print on most paper books. A Kindle with adjustable font size is the perfect solution. Plus, instantaneous delivery! I grew up a 90 minute round trip away from the closest bookstore, so being able to access a book when I want to is a fantastic thing.

That top photo is clearly channeling a younger Fox Mulder, just starting to get the hang of swirling his trench coat around like the dramatic diva he’ll grow up to be.

Well, remember that people will usually take a pregnancy test and have a pregnancy confirmed before they’ll take steps to access this medication. No one’s going to take an abortion drug without first confirming they’re actually pregnant and need it.

It’s consistently surprising to me how little research is done about women with regard to sex/pregnancy/birth. Thanks for highlighting this!

It’s actually not uncommon. A lot of people’s cycles are irregular by default, so missing a month here or there may be fairly typical. I had a friend who, during a significant period of stress, went nine months without a period. When she hit the nine month mark she started worrying, even though she hadn’t had sex

Excellent point. I’d love see the Satanic Temple really be a force to reckon with. They’re already doing some pretty great work.

Agreed. I was living in Texas when there was talk about laws allowing for pharmacists to refrain from dispensing based on religious/moral objections went into effect. (And a quick Google search tells me they’re trying that fuckery again. Ugh.)

Unfortunately, for a lot of people there is no space free from politics these days because it’s affecting our lives on a daily basis. I’d rather support a platform that seeks to inform people on current events than one who sticks its head in the sand for the comfort of a subsection of readers.

I work in healthcare and we worried we were being a bit Chicken Little when we started a push to educate people about IUDs. I hope that will ultimately be the case, but I’m glad we did. Definitely better safe than sorry.

Seconded. I worked at an Ivy and the way the system functioned was ridiculous the rich get richer, y’all, at any cost.

It’s this “have it both ways” that bothers me. If Beyoncé wants to be at a presidential inauguration, the cost of being there is singing. If she wants to perform a flawlessly vocal at an inauguration, mail the tape in and stay at home. But don’t show up and take credit for something you kind sorta but didn’t actually

I like the cut of your jib, sir!

I’m sorry about your grandma. Have some Internet hugs from a stranger.
