“But it’s silly to pretend that her specific choices aren’t going to attract a certain type of person who is far less likely to have common decency or respect for personal boundaries.”

The Star Wars Oxygen episodes of the Rebel Force Radio podcast go quite in-depth into scores and classical music. For people who are Star Wars fan, it’s a good entry point for learning more about the genre.

I’d also add the first Transformers score and some of the music Bear McCreary wrote for Battlestar Galactica.

I have a family member who’s mentally ill and I’m often worried about him losing access to/deciding to stop taking his medication. It’s a real short jump from that to this, and that’s terrifying.

Of course it’s not free: It’s built into the cost of their insurance or university health fee. They just want to move services in-house and with something as time sensitive as a medical abortion, it’s a reasonable request to avoid the delays of entering another medical system entirely.

“Kinda sad we have to even make people of college age getting advanced degrees of an outcome like pregnancy, but people aren’t rational.”

Seconded! I don’t get menstrual migraines often, but it would nice to not have to be bleeding, feel bloated and uncomfortable, and feel like my head is going to implode while people expect me to bbe productive at work. I’m lucky in that I have adequate sick leave, but I know so many people don’t.

Ooh, thanks for the info!

To be fair, some years a George Lopez show is the only opportunity I have to see other brown people. (Where the hell do y’all hide, yo?) I’d much rather see Fluffy, though.

I usually don’t care about vocal fry, but hers was pretty noticeable. It’s still a good reading but it can be a little distracting at times.

Yes! Hes said himself that this asinine plan wont work and yet, here we are.

I think it’s also important to consider shifting borders over time. Over time, a given spot on a map could’ve been Mexican, could’ve been American, and residents had no power over the borders that were drawn around them. Yes, we should have reasonably immigration laws in place, but I understand the frustration with

Thanks! I haven’t tried theBalm yet (partially because their naming scheme makes no sense to me, which I know is random), but I’ll check them out. Kat Von D’s are my favorites for full on matte (looking forward to the new colors!) and the Colour Pop satins are really rad. I should probably give Ofra a try too, since

Seconded. I’ll go liquid if I’m wearing something bright or deep, but I’ve found I tend to avoid those colors overall because liquids are so drying and uncomfortable. And actually, I think the Lip Lingerie is one of the driest formulas I’ve tried. Pity, because their color range is pretty rad.

Sweet bippity, thanks for linking that. That was a fantastic and moving read.

That episode was so hard to get through, except for Jason’s WTF-yness about the whole thing. He was our Greek chorus for sure.

Not commenting on this particular case, but the point about confusion and documentation is an important one. Family lore has it that my great-grandmother was full-blooded Native and was forcibly married to my great-grandfather. My mother and I have looked into what it would take to join her tribe if that were true,

Totally aside from the

Seconded. My grandpa was a crier: if he was happy, if he was sad, if something was particularly beautiful or joyful. He was one of the most stand-up men I’ve ever met and the fact that he cried often had no bearing on what others thought of him. He was a great example of what healthy masculinity and self-confidence

True, but we’ll never have the opportunity to look for causal data on something like this. If we’re talking about normalization of a particular behavior, I’m content with correlation as a possible indicator. YMMV.
