My first reflex was to celebrate and be like yeah fuck u asshole 17 years is rad. But my joy was tempered remember how little time these scumbags actually serve so I wanted an answer from someone who might be able to keep my spirits lifted.

His editor Sally Menke died a while ago and in the Hateful Eight it was pretty clear he didn’t have the same kind of thing going with the editor who replaced her. I feel like this could be part of the explanation. Also maybe he just wants to enjoy the fruits of his labors and go out on top?
