Thought it was the kia soul at first!

Buy a cheap car! Lady in the example spent 31k. My daily driver cost $1500 two years ago. She could have paid $100 a month instead for a corolla. “I need a car now” is not a good excuse to pay a stupid amount of money.

Had to change all the wheel bearings on my Subaru between 120k mi and 150k mi. They were all rust welded in. I bought the “hub buster” on amazon. Basically a hefty piece of metal that bolts on to the hub face that you can then wail on with a sledge. Would recommend!

Fascinating data, where did you find this?

This was honestly a pretty amazing value even in 2009, even without the $4500 incentive. I had a 2003 base model toyota matrix for a while. Very similarly equipped to your versa (although I had the hatchback, and a passenger lock cylinder!). The MSRP was 14,670 in 2003. Like the versa it was a hoot to drive around

This is exactly what I do. No desire for auto climate control.

I keep track of all my maintenance with a Google spreadsheet. I scan the receipts and link them right there so it makes it easy to see how recent things were changed. It also makes it easy to add up how much you've spent per mile, and make cool charts and mileage graphs.

If they’re extended, they lock in the extended position. So if both seat belts are extended, they know there were two people in the car wearing seat belts when it crashed.

The same guy that restored the Lotus did the same thing to an Aston Martin! Look up bisforbuild on youtube. It was a pretty neat video series.

Where can I get a Jalopnik sticker?

No tolls setting on google maps is the way to go.

Excellent! Very much looking forward to the articles on this.

You can’t buy a car but you have four cars? How do you get people to give away a 2 year old honda fit?

Why not go take if for a test drive?

BMW, more than 2 years old, automatic crack pipe.

Do you remember when Delta cancelled thousands of flights Las year because their ticket server crashed? How many times have you gotten on a plane to see the TV is broken? I zero percent trust the computers enough to fly start to finish.

My first car was a 2001 Honda Civic. It was a literal grandma car, inherited from my grandma. It was slow, boring and automatic to drive but free to own and dirt cheap to fix. No good reason to get rid of it. Instead I upgraded the stereo, installed a heated seat, navigation, reverse camera, led lighting, better
