It’s a bit hard to summon any enthusiasm for a car that is a bit more powerful than a Hellcat and will probably be driven by someone that I consider an asshole.

WHY would you bring something from the US when you can buy something better and cheaper (used) in England?!?

Why don’t you just lease one when you get there? It’ll just be a inconvenience with higher insurance and being LHD, plus if you get a US spec car servicing will be costly and timely hassle.

Bring a RHD Jeep or just buy a car there. A LHD car in London will become not-fun within weeks.

The VW Passat is a great choice for that. It offers heated seats, touch screen entertainment, navigation, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot notification, back up camera, assisted parking. An app also lets you manage it remotely, so you can make sure it is locked, flash the lights, see its

quite a sin to post that here, but for a commute car... it is pretty good... sooo yeah.

Worst ever? JK with manual (I have one).

I’d second the Lexus ES suggestion. Do not underestimate the value of quietness as a criteria for selecting a commuter car. Surprisingly, I’ve found that the sound level has a lot more to do with my fatigue level after a commute than even ride comfort. Most cars have a pretty decent ride these days, but a really quiet

For my terrible commute, I’d settle for anything with an automatic transmission. As much fun as my Miata is for a deserted back road, it’s not much fun crawling through bumper-to-bumper traffic on 101 where I spend much of the time shifting between first and neutral.

Incorrect. The Phantom Wedge is the solution

Bicycle and/or train. Next question.

Helicopter ftw

When people say “this car has soul and passion” usually what that means is that it breaks down a lot and has many issues. Those issues then are interpreted as soul and passion.

I feel ya, ohh boy do I feel ya.....

It’s me, but I’m broke because I bought a house to put my children in the best school district in NW Ohio

If I could have raised the funds, I would of already negotiated the price, or perhaps paid the asking, if needed, just to have this car in my life.

Buy a powerball ticket today! If I win I’ll be picking this sucker up later in the day after I call Singer and tell them to start building me a Porsche. ;)

I think it’s worth having a discussion about just how much old cars are worth now. Is that car worth 10k? No, it’s probably worth $15k when you look at it as nice, completely reliable and stylish transportation. The trouble is... when you get into this $10k range no one knows what this car is? Am I supposed to buy

Tell you what. Make it a 2nd gen and leave an Appetite for Destruction cassette in the deck and I’ll give you 12.
