Fantastic article! I’ve been waiting for some in-depth info about what happened to come out. It’s really sad to see a game I was so excited for fall apart this way, but it’s nice to at least have a clearer picture.

I love his films, but I was disappointed by The Boy and the Beast. I loved it all the way up until the final battle, which just didn’t resonate with me the way the rest of the movie—and all his other movies—did. It felt like an extension of Wolf Children’s ending, but not in a satisfying way.

I actually didn’t have a chance to see it yet. I heard it was...not good, which I can readily believe. It’s hard to split the difference on tone when your original audience has grown up and tastes of the intended age group have evolved. I do hope it’s not cringeworthy awful, at least.
