Plus, it’s McPoyle-chic.

I bet they look awesome on you. I suffer from pretty severe thin envy and I forget sometimes about the forms of privilege I do have. I’ve been trying to flatter my short, weight-fluctuating body since high school and sometimes resent people who seem to be able to throw on shapeless clothes and still look amazing when

Maxi dresses are like yoga pants that you can wear to the office. #lifehack

I totally get that, but what I was saying is that it’s much easier to challenge society when you already have a desirable figure to begin with.

Exactly! The perk of wearing something like this is it reads as saying ‘I’m beautiful/thin enough to not be written off by society no matter what I wear’. This dress reads to me like a brag.

The dress. The man shoes. This is a woman I’d find stumbling around confusedly in my back yard.

Same, and they always make me feel like at least a hundred bucks. To me, this is the slightly awkward sister of the shift dress, which...bangin:

Especially if you’re usually read as conventionally attractive

I think it looks very “Handmaid’s Tale” but I don’t remember the part in the book where the society doesn’t think it’s worth it to make shoes for women so they’re forced to wear men’s castoffs.

Her face, tho! “Da fuq they got me wearing?”

By the same token why do your clothes have to be aggressive eye sores?

I look bangin’ in a maxi dress. :)

That’s the thing with those purposely old and frumpy styles; much like that trend last year of dying one’s hair grey, it only works as “stylish” if you are absurdly too young for it, otherwise you just look old and frumpy.

This is what they make you wear in Russian prison.

You deserve more than this! You are worth more than this!

That is some “just finished my de-lousing” chic.

Those sleeves. The hair. The shoes! This is the saddest outfit on the saddest model in the land.

The shoes are what really make that outfit.

I hear it really lets the ass breathe.

Is this one completely open in the back too, maybe with one flimsy snap? Modest in the front, g-string in the back!
