Sounds like FOM/Liberty are calling Ferrari’s bluff and I love them for it.

I was looking into Tile and was quite disappointed to hear that the battery lasts “approximately a year” and requires sending the unit back to Tile for replacement.
It would appear a rival, TrackR Pixel, has user-replaceable batteries, for anyone interested.

No. I can pretty much list every car I’ve ever driven for long-enough that I have a feeling for it.
1977 Chevrolet Corvette
2000's Pontiac Montana
2000's PT Cruiser
2000's Chevrolet HHR
2010's Chevrolet Cruze
2000's Chevrolet Cobalt Coupe
2010's Chevrolet Traverse
1999 Pontiac Grand Am SE Coupe
1991 Mazda Miata

I...what. How on earth did you walk into a lot and say “I’m making a good choice”.
You aren’t. He is ;)

From the local junkyard?
To each their own; if I could sell my Mustang right now for $12k I could buy a fairly nice used car at ~$8,000 *and* pay off a credit card completely, and have no further debt — in fact, I’d have less debt than when I started!
That’s pretty true. Lord knows I see plenty of them at the track.
I personally would rather go for a Pontiac G8 for that price...
Bingo.
No rust, but we just...messed up. That’s all there is to it. I think we tried to shortcut taking it all apart to install the new gasket, and that was a mistake.
Unless you know exactly what you’re doing, “trying to shortcut” seems to bite one more often in the ass than not.
Yeah, they were made in an era where GM really just...didn’t care.
It wasn’t exactly exclusive to GM either; lots of cars felt like they were made with cheap plastic, glue, and prayer...both that it held together, and that nobody noticed.
My little brother’s was an automatic transmission and it had awful lag when you…
I feel like most people would rather drive a manual Miata...
((if anyone is curious, while the water pump and timing belt job on a ‘91 Miata is pretty routine, there’s a extra pipe going *out* to the driver’s side of the engine that has a gasket. When we took everything apart, we messed up all of that/the gasket itself. Tada, leak.
Barely limped her to the dealership, going…
While true, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I find that one beautiful in a number of ways. I dunno if “no manual” is worth biting the bullet, but it’s certainly in a great price range.
The Chevy Cobalt is singlehandedly the worst car I’ve ever had the displeasure of driving.
And I’ve driven both a PT Cruiser and Chevy HHR.
Go buy a GTO. They’re pretty readily available.
Sounds like your biggest automotive regret was less the car and more the booster seats.
Ouch.
This hits too close to home. I did a $300 timing belt/water pump job with some friends in their garage...and then promptly turned around and paid a dealership $500 to redo part of it.
