“I hate this idea. If I see Best If Used By, I have no idea after that how long the food item is still safe to eat.”

You know, most people on internet comment threads are probably aware that their comments aren’t going to reach the content creators. It’s probably a safe assumption that that isn’t their intent, and creating a big fat straw man out of it just so you can take a shit on it isn’t really contributing anything.

Just like every era. The process of growing up is, basically, your innocence being killed by a death of 1000 cuts. Naturally one always thinks of the time when/before one was born as “innocent” (since you were) and has the feeling that life got more cynical and corrupt as one gets older. One of the eye opening things

Don’t sleep on the Gilded Age...

What’s something he did that was actually bad? Like I see things I like and things I just am not familiar with (but as far as I know aren’t, like, famously bad or anything).

Yeah, I’m not sure what people are on about with Goyer. Everything on his bio that I’ve seen I think is good-to-great. Yeah, there’s what looks like some B-movie sci-fi horror nonsense in there, but *someone* has to write those. When one has seen how spectacularly the writing can let down big budget superhero movies,

It was by a stunt coordinator, so I don’t think the actual person who did it would be involved, but who knows what her feeling about it are.

It’s spelled “choad”, not “chode”.

...and also Hulu

I’ve never watched Kimmy Schmidt (nothing against it, there are just...a lot of things to watch), but from what I’ve seen he seems like he’d be pretty great.

Good point. I’ve never heard Kate McKinnon sing, but assuming she can that’s a great call.

Does Mos Def have the right manic energy? I really only know his screen presence from Hitchikers Guide (where he was good, but in kind of a cool, laid back way), and Dave Chapelle’s Block Party (where he’s entertaining, but just being himself). I’m here for more Mos Def on screen, but I’m not sure this would be the

I enjoyed the lion king musical and I kind of hate the movie even.

“Are Archer, Family Guy or Bob’s Burgers worse because of H. Jon Benjamin, who makes no effort to vocally “act”?”

See i felt like they got the *landing* but really flubbed up the *takeoff*...

I mean True Detective is an anthology series - there was no intention of connection between seasons. WW season 1s characters and plot carried right into season 2, and everything about that trailer implies that will continue, even as we get some new perspectives, settings, and people.

Fwiw, I thought S2 found it’s footing after some early faffing about (I nearly gave up on it and in the end I was glad I didn’t).

I can’t remember where I read this, but it does seem like it would have been a stronger choice to have some combination of immediate threat and sudden loss push her over the brink - like rather than Euron randomly being able to snipe the second dragon out of nowhere, have it survive. Have the assault on king’s landing

“I know what a lot of people refer to her as, and that’s exactly my point - those people are wrong. Just because a lot of them don’t understand how it works doesn’t automatically make them right.”

“There’s no way she would be legally allowed to decline if they wanted her back.”
