WotW didn't work for me simply because I don't believe Tom Cruise as an average guy. Tim Robbins should have played the desperate father, and Tom Cruise the basement dwelling paranoid.
Fuck that guy, man; he played you for a sucker. He had you from the moment he goaded you into explaining yourself. Assholes like him will waste your life if you allow them.
Willis racks up quite the body count in that film, if I recall.

You have to watch later episodes of the Leftovers for the show to gel. There's a Carrie Coon focused mystery episode that's great, and also a flash back episode to the day of, where we see (most) everyone happier and more well adjusted.
