Tragic but not surprising considering the circumstances this was discovered (the alternative was she abandoned her child in the middle of lake or was kidnapped).

Seattle’s CHAZ experiment should show you that cops are needed. In places where the cops have resorted to slow-downs and sick-outs, like in NYC, Atlanta and earlier in Baltimore- you can see murders go up dramatically.

I mean it’s clear to anyone with an ounce of gray matter that the police is essential to any society, and police will need cars to do their jobs. There should be no controversy at this.

Here’s a free pro tip: everything is political. So are your calls for no discussion of politics.

The end result is interesting. Not sure dropping a car into water is a great idea......

I have seen this same “noose” on several garage door pulls over the last twenty years or so. Does that mean every single one of those garage owners was racist or is it possible some of them just like death iconography? I can guarantee you my ex-GF, who was very Goth, was not a bit racist. She also had skulls

And I suppose that you'll say the loops on the ends of rope swings worldwide are also racist.

It appears to be a Bimini Twist Knot (a common fishing loop knot) to me to simply to make it easier to pull down the garage door.

No commenting and a different set of writers.  It should be called “deadspinfugazi”

Agreed. I don’t think Bubba, NASCAR, or the drivers acted inappropriately given what they knew at the time. It was understandable Bubba and his team would interpret this as a threat given recent events and the symbolism involved. NASCAR’s leadership was smart in acting quickly. The FBI’s findings ruled out Bubba being

I believe this has been verified (it was a noose in November 2019 but probably “looped” to make it easier to pull the door closed since nobody back then would know at that time that Wallace would be assigned to this particular garage back then). The one from June is after it was cut for evidence.

Arguments of is it or is it not a noose are irrelevant; what is relevant is if that noose-like door pull was put there as a direct message/threat to Bubba Wallace - which it has been concluded that the rope had been there before he arrived, and it was a random selection of the garage.

Agreed -- it appears to be a misunderstanding.  I enjoy how this article keeps making the argument for racism anyway though.

Deadspin still exists?

Wait.

If anyone starts comparing this to Jessie Smullet, get out. Now.
